Summary

PROLOGUE - ENTRE DEUX BATTEMENTS

Il y eut un instant où le monde oublia de respirer.

Pas un choc.

Pas un cri.

Juste une hésitation.

Une seconde trop longue, suspendue entre deux battements invisibles.

Le vent s’arrêta au-dessus des eaux. Les ombres cessèrent de glisser. Même la lumière sembla incertaine, comme si elle ne savait plus dans quelle direction tomber. Quelque part, très loin, une goutte de pluie resta figée en plein ciel, prisonnière d’un choix qui n’arrivait pas.

Puis le temps vacilla.

Une horloge ancienne oubliée des hommes, gravée dans la pierre d’un lieu qui n’existait plus vraiment trembla doucement. Son cadran était fendu de fines lignes lumineuses, comme des cicatrices trop vieilles pour disparaître. Les aiguilles frémirent, animées par une volonté qui n’était plus la leur.

Elles tentèrent d’avancer.

Elles échouèrent.

L’une d’elles recula d’un souffle.

L’autre se figea.

Et dans ce silence brutal, quelque chose s’ouvrit.

Ce n’était ni une porte, ni une blessure.

Plutôt un espace. Un entre-deux. Là où le passé murmurait encore, où le futur retenait son nom, et où le présent n’osait plus avancer.

Les dieux sentirent la rupture et détournèrent le regard.

Les Titans, eux, demeurèrent immobiles.

Car ils savaient.

Ils savaient que ce genre de fissure n’apparaissait jamais sans raison.

Qu’elle ne cherchait ni la destruction, ni la conquête.

Elle cherchait quelqu’un.

Quelqu’un qui avait déjà marché entre la lumière et l’ombre.

Quelqu’un qui avait survécu à la perte, au choix, à la fin.

Quelqu’un dont le cœur battait encore au rythme d’une promesse inachevée.

Le monde, lui, reprit lentement sa respiration.

Mais le temps, désormais, n’était plus certain de vouloir continuer.
