The Scythe

Nowadays, the generation has been very desperate. So, every teacher of the 'Renew' school trying to teach students discipline, respect. The students got to play freely in that school. They liked the school very much. They all were very intelligent but Suman was something special. He was the topper of the school but the problem was he used to brag alot.

    Then one day, Suman was saying - "You know, I got full marks again. And the bitter truth is, none of you can even come near me."

Maria smiled and said -"So what? You're acting like you've won in your life by just having full marks. I don't want to be like you."

- What do you mean by that?

- I meant you're bragging like losers. Winners don't shout like you.

- What did you say?! How dare you to say me that? Huh?! Then beat me if you can. Let's see who tops in the upcoming test.

-(smirked)

Suman used to think none can come close to him, so he was relaxing but the result day caused his dismay. Maria got five marks more than him. Maria was silent while glaring at Suman which made Suman feel irritated. He thought that she had cheated. He went straight to Maria and started shouting in anger.

- "Don't think yourself the best just by having full marks!"

- "At least I won the challenge. If you can act like winning life after topping the exam then why can't I call myself the best?"

- "YOU TALK TOO MUCH!?" (pushed Maria roughly)

    Maria's back bumped to the bench and she became senseless. Suman panicked. He called the teacher to show like it was not at all Suman's fault. The teachers brought Maria to the sick room  to show her to the doctor. But the doctor's face faded. Teachers became concerned, and asked- What happened?!

- "She is no more. Her back banged to any hard thing very harshly. I don't think it was an accident. I think any of the children pushed her very roughly. You should ask her classmates."

  One of the teachers called her parents to the school. Her parents were surprised. They claimed that it was an murder but they hadn't enough proof.

Her father - "We send our daughter to educate. We believe the school is safe. Is it the safety?! And you guys are saying that it's just an accident?! WHAT THE HELL!"

Her mother wiped her tears and came to the teachers saying- "Ma'am, we want check the C.C.T.V. footage. We want to know who is involved in this."

Teachers- "Sure, please come with us we all want to know the reason."

Suman's heartbeat started beating like a drum. He pretended being senseless. Some staffs brought him to the sick room. Till now Suman was pretending being sick but now he felt really sick for overthinking. Suddenly he heard some voices, "Suman can't do this. It's an accident."

The other voice- "Yes he's a good boy."

Suman started to panic. Then Maria's parents came ambling to him. He was really scared. But her mother tapped his shoulder and said- "It's an accident. I know you are scared but you didn't do this internationally."

Suman- Thank you for understanding me. She was my good friend. How can I even hurt her ?

Her parents left. Suman signed heavily and tried to forget all this happened. He thought none noticed him but he was anaware of Maria's younger sister Lyra. Lyra tried to say every thing but none believed her as she was just a kid. Lyra didn't hear the quarell but herard Maria shouting in pain. She went to check and saw Suman was crying. For this, none suspected Suman,  but she had her anger for him...
