Flower field
As a child
it’s small
only a few flowers grow there
but with every year
the field gets bigger
more and more flowers appear
some stand for people
some for feelings
some for responsibilities
that suddenly exist
every flower needs attention
if you give it too much water
it drowns
if you give it none
it quietly withers
and sometimes
a flower dies
but you shouldn’t hold on
to a dead flower
you take it out of the soil
and make space for something new
sometimes flowers just die
for no reason
and you can’t blame yourself for that
you did what you could
the best that was in your power
there will be days
when it rains
or storms pass through your field
on those days
you don’t have to water the flowers
on those days
you don’t have to water the flowers
sometimes life
has already given enough
there are flowers
that keep coming back
those are the ones you should keep
and take care of
but you have to be careful
because not every beautiful flower
is a good one
some are poisonous
at the end of your life
your field will be huge
and it’s up to you
whether healthy flowers grow there
or a field full of poison and thorns
because this field is yours
your decisions
your feelings
your thoughts
it’s okay
to ask for advice
or to seek help
but the gardening
is something you have to do yourself
no one else
can take care of your field
