Last Mistake

Chapter 2 – The First Message P stared at the phone screen. Unknown Number. «"Welcome back to the night you destroyed my world."» His heartbeat quickened. "No..." he whispered. His hands trembled as he deleted the message. A second later... Another notification. This time it contained a video. The footage showed P walking out of his university library just ten minutes earlier. Someone had been watching him. The camera slowly zoomed in on his face. Then the screen turned black. A sentence appeared. «"I never stopped watching you."» P looked around his apartment. Every shadow suddenly felt alive. He rushed outside, scanning the empty street. Nothing. Only rain. --- The next morning, strange things began happening. His student ID stopped working. His attendance records had disappeared. His classmates whispered whenever he walked past. Even his closest friend avoided eye contact. When P asked what was happening, nobody answered. It was as if the entire university had silently turned against him overnight. --- Miles away, inside a dimly lit room covered with photographs and newspaper clippings, Black Kailo sat motionless. A wall-sized board displayed every important moment of P's life. School. Hospital. College. Every mistake. Every fear. A small chessboard rested on the table. Black Kailo moved a single black piece forward. He smiled. "You think this is revenge, P." "It isn't." "This is education." "I'm going to teach you what it feels like..." "...to lose everything."
