Summary

This short story is about the emotional journey of Geromeo, a lonely boy who inhabits a quiet village and undergoes a series of formative heartbreaks in his pursuit of companionship. Through three distinct acts, the narrative explores his encounters with different groups of travelers, illustrating his transition from desperate longing to a profound understanding of self-worth. Visual elements, including a book cover and back illustration, depict the protagonist's stargazing sanctuary and the rugged, mountainous landscape that mirrors his internal struggles. Chapter 1

Act 1: The First Clash

Once upon a time, there was a land full of happiness and love. However, one person lived in this small village surrounded by farms and small buildings. He was happy, with a decent amount of energy to discover the world and meet new people. He always wondered when he would be loved and when he could exchange the full bottle of love he had with the group that would visit his village. He kept waiting for them to come while desperately watching other villages welcoming new groups of people to inhabit their lands with an environment of peace and closeness.

That young boy felt lonelier day by day and wished he could share the vast amount of love he had, but sadly, no one came to him. From that point on, the boy’s life changed completely when he decided to search for this kind of love outside of his village.

That young boy, with a tiny black hat and a black garment, was called Geromeo. After a few months, Geromeo found his first group, who seemed friendly and showed signs of accepting him. Even though the young kid was so nervous, he received their acceptance. His tiny face lit up with a huge smile, and he couldn’t even sleep from excitement. The new group entered, and oh my—the calm and pure village was filled with strange, vibrant vibes for the first time. The boy was so willing to share all his love with those newcomers.

As days passed by, Geromeo felt something was off. That poor thing didn’t have any experience before, but he knew that the love scale was unbalanced. He was generously sharing his love in large amounts while receiving nothing in return. A few days later, he woke up and found all of them had disappeared, and this was our little boy’s first heartbreak. They had promised him they would stay, and suddenly they left for no reason, claiming they weren’t sure if they should stay any longer.

How do you think our boy felt at that time? The city’s structures started to crack down, accompanied by strong winds, and for the next few months, the weather was gloomy with the grayest sky he had ever seen.

Geromeo used to live at the center of the city in a small, old wooden cabin. It was his favorite place to stargaze and observe the sky whenever he was broken and sad. Unfortunately, a small dot of darkness started to appear in his cabin, but he couldn’t realize it at the time since it was only the size of a book. Days passed by, and our little boy started to accept the pain for the first time. With time, he learned that everything passes—even sadness.

jo987_123: This is a good story, but it needs a good editor to go through this iteration and fix the mistakes. The pov changes from 1st person to 3rd person, often, and sometimes within one sentence. It needs a liberal sprinkling of punctuation marks throughout, and a decision needs to be made about the char...
