Azzera

It was a dark rainy night, puddles formed creating reflections, lights blared from overhead, in the middle of it all however 2 people would be, inside of an alleyway. In the harsh conditions they would cling onto life, clawing at it like that would coerce it not to leave.

"Come on... stay with me, the thirst won't take you.." says the cat-looking one. "Seraphina" was her name, but she liked to be called Sera.

"I'm too.. sleepy... I can't.." says the fox-looking one, in her arms, eyes half-lidded. "Azariah" was his name, but he stuck to being called Azzy.

"No! You have to live! You're all I have!" She says, desperate, tears forming in her large cat-like eyes.

As he slowly starts to fall drift away, they're interrupted by a voice.

"You two look like you could use a hand... or more than that", a female voice, a stern deep one. A mature one. They turn to see a person standing there, a leopard-looking one, fashioning a suit and fedora.

"Come with me, if you can walk, that is. I'm sure you have nothing to lose if I were to kill you, which I won't." She says, with a smirk on her face before turning around. With Azzy in her arms, Sera follows the woman and they end up in a grand but old mansion in the middle of nowhere. It seems well taken-care-of despite being decades before their time. Inside the mansion they see someone peeking, a wolf-looking person, with curious, large eyes. "Visitors? River, I know you'd treat me well..." says the wolf, from the way he's speaking it's obvious he's hiding a smile from out of view.

"These aren't for eating, now move along, I need to show them their rooms and make food. They might die soon if I don't." Says the woman, "River", before leading the couple into their shared room. She leaves them there for awhile before coming back with water and garlic bread.

"Eat up, you two look like you could use the energy." She says before sitting in a chair infront of them "And while you do.. maybe tell me who you two are, I haven't exactly done my research."

"Well... this is Azzy, he's my boyfriend... he kind of was meant to support us but... during the war and all for this town, he lost his job and we were on the streets since... if you hadn't came along we might've died, which... why did you? Why did you help us?" Replies Sera in the middle of engulfing her food, meanwhile Azzy is eating in silence where he sits.

"Because.. I see potential in you two, like I saw with Hunter, the wolf you saw in the living room. You two have nothing to lose, but much to gain. I'll leave you to eat for now.." says River before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
