Prologue: Unforgettable Desire

This is a story about dreams, searching for a home, and a heart to come home to…

This is… Our Stories.

A blonde-haired woman, with a darker shade on the tip of her hair, reaching the age of 28, smiled. Her eyes glistened as she pulled the cocktail up, eyeing the other woman with a smug expression. “You’re cute. The cocktail is mine, now.” She slurred, giving her a teasing smile. She quickly guzzled the cocktail down her throat, eyes never leaving her.

The woman with long brown wavy hair moaned at the blonde, smiling while leaning closer to her. “Ooh, that’s hot, Orphè…” She mumbled. She’s winning the bet. Or so, she thought.

The blonde named Orphè leaned forward, kissing her on the lips. They started kissing heavily, hands everywhere on each other’s body. Orphè pulled away, licking her lips as she stared at the girl. Orphè got off the bar’s stool, tugged her hand with hers, pulling her outside the bar. The blaring music spilled out from the building when the door opened. Orphè was pressing her body on the woman against the wall of the night club they just walked out of.

They were outside, on the side of the street that has a pathway towards the beach. The night clubs were everywhere near the beach bay in a short walking distance. In contrast to the bars, there were several coffee shops just a few blocks away from it. The night clubs made the town livelier and more fun when the sky started getting too dark.

The woman with long wavy hair moaned loudly when the tallest of the two sucked on her lips, rubbing their bodies together, arms clinging to the blonde’s neck.

“Orphè…”

“Yes, that’s my name… Call me again.” the blonde murmured in between their kisses. It was the day when she practically had no work appointments and had lots of free time. This was one of those nights.

“Let’s do this somewhere else…” The woman giggled, giving Orphè a soft squeeze on her butt.

“Sure. My studio?” Orphè slurred while she tried to stand up without leaning against the wall. Her studio was almost the center of the town, it’s within walking distance everywhere. Even close to the beach.

“Why not?” The woman excitedly grabbed her hand.

Both of them walked away from the night club, reaching the end of the street to turn into when Orphè’s eyes caught the sight of a girl walking back from the beach’s direction. Orphè’s sky-blue eyes immediately glued on her as she was walking towards their directions. She looked new in this Seabreeze Beach Town. She had her black hair down, almost reaching her shoulders. That short sleeve shirt hugged her body perfectly, combined with a short skirt ruffling about as she moved gracefully. The wind softly blew her hair. Orphè closed her mouth, her eyes gleaming. She staggered back from the current woman who was clinging on her body, letting herself fall, hitting the pavements with a low groan. The woman laughed at her and Orphè chuckled, grinning at the woman.

“Damn, cannot we just… do it here? It’s dark anyway… People won’t see…” Orphè lulled her head back, leaning against the building. Not that she cared if anyone ever found them doing it. People in this town are careless about that sort of thing. Why is she still trying to be modest when it’s obvious what she wanted from her, anyway? Her blue eyes watched that black-haired girl getting close to their direction. Orphè smiled to herself, knowing clearly that she had nowhere to go other than this path, or maybe she’s new in this town, she didn’t have any idea for another shortcut. Or maybe she just didn’t care? Orphè grinned internally at the last thought.

“Outdoor sex!? Sounds fun…” The woman exclaimed and laughed. “But I want to try your bed…” She gave a giggle while pulling Orphè’s hands to stand up.

Orphè snorted. Her voice was so loud, she was sure the black-haired girl had heard them. “I don’t want my bed… I want…” Orphè trailed off, eyes intensely staring at the girl walking past them. The gleam of neon lights around the streets made the color of her eyes clearly visible. Orphè gaped at the color of her eyes when their eyes met, unknowingly held in her breath to what she was seeing. The girl’s eyes were green mixed with blue, almost the same color as the sea. She averted her eyes when their eyes met for a few seconds, strolled away from the couple. Obviously not wanting to get involved. Orphè caught the color of her reddened cheeks before she disappeared up the stairs beside the coffee shop’s building.

“... you…” Orphè breathed out her last words, almost slurring. “I want you…” She whispered, repeating the words.

The woman who was previously trying to make Orphè’s attention back to her, realized she was shamelessly gawking at another girl. She scrunched her nose knowingly and let go of Orphè’s hand. She’s losing the bet. “Uuggh… SCREW YOU!” The woman cursed out loud.

Orphè raised an eyebrow and snorted when the woman cursed out. Her grin widened at the woman. “Sorry. She’s hot. Hotter than any girls in town. Here, take this.” Orphè dipped her hand inside her pocket, giving her some cash, paying for the cocktail she had drunk. It’s how things work in this town. That iconic cocktail. Her blue eyes were back to the building the girl had disappeared into.

The brown wavy-haired woman glared at Orphè before leaving Orphè alone on the pavement.

Orphè’s eyes looked up when the light was up in one of the rooms above the coffee shop. She saw her peeking at the window, wondering if that black haired girl was watching her from above. Orphè grinned at her own sweet assumption. The blonde had never seen her around the town until tonight. She recognized every girl that lived in this town, most of them were her clients after all.

“I want you… To be mine…” Orphè slurred while staring at the window. She was starting to feel light headed as she stared up at the building in front of her. The coffee shop had been open for several weeks already but Orphè hadn’t been paying attention to it. Nightclubs were her hang out place most of the time. Now though, she’s gonna pay lots of attention to the coffee shop from now on. She’s the most beautiful girl Orphè had ever seen. And no, it’s not because of the alcohol she’s thinking that.

The curtain was closed, leaving Orphè staring at the closed window. She blinked, realizing that she had been gazing at someone’s place for a while now. She sighed, trying to stand up. She winced, feeling the world swarm before her eyes. The blonde slowly paced towards the coffee shop. She stood before the entrance, eyeing the opening hour. Her vision doubled for a moment before Orphè shook her head. She ran her hand across her face, blinking a few times before turning around, pacing towards her own studio.

“Damn, I should have brought my motorbike…”

Mila walked out of her bedroom when she heard the front door open. Her daughter walked inside the spacious living room, connected to a kitchen. She entered the rent place they shared rather briskly. Mila frowned at her daughter when she closed the door almost immediately as she entered.

“Lovamia? Is something the matter?” Her mother called her.

Lovamia jolted at her mother. She looked at Mila, shaking her head, looking somewhat flustered. “Nothing, mom. I just came back from the beach. The wind was pretty strong.” She mumbled. “Good night.” She quickly strolled toward her room that was at the right side of the room, across her mom’s. She ignored her mom’s look and quickly went inside, turned on the light and locked the door as soon as she closed it.

Lovamia leaned against the door, brushing her right palm across her face. She blushed as the image came back into her mind. Some people in this town were just kissing on the street and nonchalantly talking about outdoor sex. Lovamia sighed, frowning while walking toward her bed. She threw herself on the comfy bed, closed her eyes and groaned against her pillow. She wished she didn’t catch them again. Lovamia suddenly opened her eyes wide, recalling what they were about to do down there. She quickly rustled off the bed and scampered on her feet, running towards the window. She grabbed the curtain, checking outside below her window. The woman was gone, the blonde was alone, still sitting on the pavement. She was looking up at the window, probably because of the light. Lovamia’s grip on the curtain tightened. She should have just switched off the light. Did that woman ditch her? Wasn’t it because Lovamia strolled past them that the other woman cursed out and ended up ditching the blonde? That woman with streak blonde hair was shamelessly gawking all over Lovamia. She could feel her intense gaze as she walked past them. It was awkward when their eyes met. She was glad they didn’t end up doing it there, though. What a view.

Lovamia sighed exasperatedly while closing the curtain. She knew there were lots of clubs and bars around this town. Despite what she just saw, this town seemed so lively with lots of fun things to do. It wasn’t the first time she came to this town. She had been playing by the beach when she was little and during family vacation several times. There’s no other beach that’s closer to Coral City, the previous city she lived in. The city where she was born. Now when she returned here after being an adult, it felt different.

Lovamia blushed, sighing yet again, thinking about the start of her new life in this Seabreeze Beach Town. It was her first day to be a resident here. She was tired of just moving into this city, where her mom opened the coffee shop only recently. Hopefully moving here won’t add some kind of somersault experience.

She looked behind her when she heard her phone jingling upon receiving a message. She stared at her phone for a moment. A message she kept ignoring for the past few days since she moved to this town. Lovamia switched off her phone screen, laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. The image of two girls kissing burnt behind her retinas. She was too busy chasing after her dream that she forgot how it felt like to be in love again. Lovamia’s lips curved into a smile. Maybe, she could try to have someone again. Forgetting about her dream… Sounds about right… She lulled herself to sleep with the image of her kissing the girl she loved by the sea.

That night, Lovamia had a nice dream. She sleeps so well she forgot about her current hassle in life.
