Summary
Purpose Andrews likes her life. She sleeps when she wants, spends her days with the people she loves, and has no plans to get a job or settle down for anybody. Then she meets Dex on the Beat. Dexter Hayes is a successful producer, a damn good cook, and entirely too comfortable telling Purpose what he wants. By their second day knowing each other, he’s heard about the men who occasionally handle things for her. “Get rid of him. Matter fact, all of ’em.” “Boy, I met you *yesterday*.” “And?” Purpose has heard big promises before. Dex follows his with breakfast, late nights at the studio, room for her in his life, and a friendship she didn’t see coming. Soon she’s calling him about the little things, missing him when he’s gone, and wondering when having him around became her favorite part of the day. Purpose never planned on being somebody’s wife. She just hadn’t met the man she’d want to come home to. 🤎
