Amera’s POV

( Flashback )

"Mane, get the fuck back before I shoot this bitch," James yelled while holding a gun to Amera's head.

"Let her go, James, please man," Armani begged, trying not to get close but standing a little bit close to him with her hands up but lowered.

"Nah, I told her ass not to leave me, now she going to pay for it," James yelled while looking at Amera then looking back to her friends.

"James, please don't," Amya added while tears came down her face.

"Say goodbye, Amera," James whispered about to pull the trigger.

"I love you all," Amera whispered with a tear running down her face and closed her eyes. She didn't fight back because she knew one day it would happened she didn't want to die because she had so much to live for but now this is the end. Then next thing you know he shot her.

"AMERAAAAA!"Armani screamed, dropping to her knees with tears coming down her face with her hand out reaching to her.

Amera props up quickly, her heart thumping and her hand is on her chest, sweat coming down her face. She look around seeing all eyes was on her looking confused but then went back to what they were doing.

I sensed that Ms.Johnson was annoyed from my behavior but she didn't say anything and went back to the lesson. Before she could speak the bell rang and everybody walked out the classroom except for me because I had to grab my things.

As I was about to leave I heard Ms.Johnson call me back.

"Ms. Pierce, a word please." She demanded.

"Yes ma'am?" She answered with an annoyed look on her face.

"I didn't like that little incident you pulled into my class today, and I'm going to make a phone call home today," she stated.

Sucks her teeth. "Mannn what," Amera protested.

"Don't get an attitude with me. You have been sleeping in my class for too long. I think it's time for me to call home," she stated.

"You're doing too much. I had one little panic," Amera stated, rolling her eyes.

"Well, your little panic interrupted my class. If this happens again, you're getting detention," she added.

"Man, whatever," she commented and walked out of the classroom.

After I walked out the classroom, I grabbed my phone to text the group chat to see where everybody was at. Nobody answered so I'm guessing they all outside waiting for me.

When I got outside, my friends was waiting and we walked to the nearest corner store for snacks. When we got to the store, everybody got their snacks and drinks and went up to the register to pay. We grabbed our bags then everyone went there separate ways to catch the bus or walk home.

Time skip ~ 3:35 pm

Meanwhile, while I'm walking home, I see a group of dudes in a circle throwing dice on the ground for money but I saw one dude who caught my attention. He's 6'1, brownskin, dreads down to his shoulders, big brown eyes, muscular with tattoos around his neck. I looked at him for a little bit longer until he sensed me looking at him, and he looked up at me. We locked eyes for a couple of seconds, then he smiled and winked at me. I looked down and blushed, then started speeding walking.

A couple of minutes later, I finally got home, took my shoes off and put them on the shoe rack, put my keys on the rack, went upstairs, took my school uniform off, put my hair up and got in the shower. As I'm in the shower. Bad and Boujie by Migos started to play, and my favorite part comes on.

"Met her today, yeah (ooh)

"She talk to me like she knew me, yeah (ooh)

"Go to sleep in a jacuzzi, yeah (yeah)"

"Waking up right to a two-piece, yeah"

After my shower, I put my lotion and Vaseline on, put on my pjs, and went downstairs to make some food. When I went upstairs, I heard the door open and it was my mom coming in from work. She took her shoes off, put her keys on the racks and came in the kitchen to greet me.

Time skip ~ 4:15

"Hey baby," my mom spoke as she walked in the kitchen.

"Hey mommy, how was the work?". I responded while looking at her.

"Girl, you know, same old, same old," she stated laying her arms on the counter.

"I had to pull a tooth today and look at some cavities because nobody wants to brush their teeth," my mom explained laughing.

"Lmao mommy". I laughed while getting something to drink.

"Girl, I'm serious, and then we had one badass kid who didn't want to stay still and was crying the whole time," she added.

"Omg lmao" I chuckled while drinking my juice.

"Yesss, but how was your day ? Anything you want to tell me ? She questioned while looking at me.

"Ummm no ma'am." I answered while looking around.

"Are you sure ? Because I got a call from your teacher today saying that you interrupted her class." She questioned raising her eyebrow at me.

"Ma, I can explain." I answered putting my drink to explain.

"I'm listening." She added while looking at me.

"I just had one little panic, that's it," I answered shrugging my shoulders.

"Right, and she also told me you fell asleep again. Did you stop taking your concentration pills again ?" She questioned having her hands on her chin

"No mommyyyy" I stated.

"Then why is your teacher calling me saying that you have fallen asleep again? Don't lie to me, girl ?," she questioned.

"I'm not lying, mommy, and those pills make me sleepy, and we're learning nothing in there. She's just talking and not teaching," I stated.

"Hmm, well, I need you to concentrate. You're about to graduate in a few months and I don't need you behind on your work." She stated.

"I'm not going to be behind mommy, I promise," I asserted.

"Mmhmm, good you know I hate being hard on you," she added.

"I know," I murmured.

"I just want to see you succeed plus didn't you tell me that you wanted to go to college," she stated.

"Yes maam," I murmured.

"Alright then get it together," she declared.

"Yes ma' am." I murmured

"Good, you good though ?," she questioned.

"Yes," I murmured

"You hungry?, you know I would cook but I got in pretty late and I gotta go to work in a couple hours," she added.

"Yes but it's okay I'll order something," I responded.

"Alright baby, I'm gonna go upstairs and get some rest I love you," she expressed.

"I love you too," I responded.

After my mom went upstairs, I grabbed my phone and hopped on DoorDash to order some McDonald's. After I ordered my food, I went upstairs to my room and turned on my TV to put on SpongeBob while I waited for my food to get there. A couple of minutes later, I grabbed my phone and got on Instagram, scrolled a lil bit, then got off to get on TikTok, scrolled a lil bit then got off to call my GC. Nobody answered until I got an incoming call from Armani.

Time skip ~ 9:15

Hello," I spoke, holding the phone to my face.

"Wsp mera, wyd?" Armani responded.

"Oh nothing, just waiting for my food to get here," I answered while looking at my tv.

"But girl guess what," I announced.

"What," she questioned.

"Bro, why did Ms. Johnson call my mom today because she said I had interrupted her class and because I fell asleep," I replied.

"Man what, she be doing too much," she stated.

"Literally, bro, like ain't my fault your class is boring, and you talk like a damn sloth," I said laughing.

"No fr, I have her in one of my periods, and she gets on my nerves so badly," she stated.

"Literally, her no neck, badly built, looking like a damn Oreo cookie," I said laughing again.

"Ayo lmfao," she laughing on the phone.

"I'm so serious too, but girlll tell me why I saw this fine ass nigga on the walk home," I added.

"Ouuuu where," she questioned.

"I think he was in front of somebody else or something I don't know, but girlll, he was fineee. He caught me looking at him, and he smiled and winked at me," I answered.

"Ouuuu shit, you got his instagram ?" She questioned.

"Girl, hell no, you know I'm scared, and I don't know if he got a girlfriend or if he got a crazy-ass baby mama." I don't know you know I don't need that trouble right now. My mom was already on my ass about ms. Johnson," I answered.

"Damnnn true, but you never know mera what if he don't got a girl," she questioned.

"Then ima go get him because I need that," I answered laughing.

"Oop, I know that's right, but I'll talk to you later though," she added.

"Alright girl, goodnight," I added.

"Goodnight I love you," she added,

"I love you too," I replied.

(Hangs up)

After I got off the phone with Armani, I went downstairs to get my food and went back upstairs to finish watching my show.

James POV

Meanwhile, James was still outside his homeboy house throwing dice on the ground with his friends but as he was standing there he couldn't stop thinking about Amera and his homeboy noticed. A couple minutes later, everybody stopped throwing dice and went in the house but James homeboy stopped him from going from inside.

"What bro, why did you stop me ?," James questioned. Looking back at his homeboy.

"Yoo James, you good ?," He questioned with his eyebrow raised.

"Yeah Im good," James answered.

"You sure cause it look like you just staring into space," He questioned with his arms crossed.

"Yes bro, I'm good," James answered.

"Nah somethings up, might as well tell me now nigga," He added.

"Nigga ain't nothing up, I'm coo," James replied.

"Now James, we been friends for too long and I know when you thinking about something so cough it up," He stated.

"Aii bruh, while we were playing the game earlier, a girl came walking our way and she looked hella good," James replied.

"See was that so hard but why you ain't get her instagram or something," He questioned with arms crossed.

"I was going to but when I smiled and winked at her, she blushed and started speed walking," James replied.

"Damn I think you scared her away nigga," He said trying to be funny.
