Chapter 1

Han Seo-yeon was a young girl who worked at a small store in Korea.

Her life had never been easy.

Her biological mother had passed away when she was young. After her mother’s death, her father married another woman. Seo-yeon’s stepmother never truly loved her and never treated her like her own daughter.

She also had a stepbrother, Jun-seo.

Jun-seo was always asking Seo-yeon for money. Every time, he had a new excuse. He wanted to start a new business, and Seo-yeon, despite knowing that he often wasted the money, still helped him.

Seo-yeon had a best friend named Choi Ha-eun.

Ha-eun had been studying in another city for the past five years. She was also a huge fan of Kang Tae-hyun, a handsome and arrogant man who was known for his cold personality.

One day, while Seo-yeon was working at the store, she received a message from Ha-eun.

Ha-eun:“Yaar, I’m at the airport in Korea! Come and pick me up!”

Seo-yeon smiled when she saw the message.

It had been five years since she had seen her best friend.

She immediately went to the airport to pick her up.

When Seo-yeon reached the airport, she started looking for Ha-eun.

Then she saw her.

But Ha-eun wasn’t alone.

She was standing nearby, looking at a man.

Seo-yeon followed her gaze.

The man was incredibly handsome.

He had a sharp face, a confident appearance, and a presence that immediately caught people’s attention.

Seo-yeon looked at him for a moment.

She couldn’t deny it.

He was extremely handsome.

For a few seconds, she found herself drawn to his appearance.

But she quickly looked away.

“Why am I even looking at him?” she thought.

She tried to ignore him, but her eyes went back to him once again.

Meanwhile, Ha-eun was still talking about him.

Seo-yeon shook her head and looked at her friend.

Before she could say anything, she suddenly saw Ha-eun properly.

She became extremely excited.

“OHHH! MY JAAN! I’M HERE!”

Ha-eun immediately looked toward her.

The two girls ran toward each other and hugged tightly.

“Oh my God! Finally! After five years!” Ha-eun said excitedly.

Seo-yeon laughed as she hugged her.

But their loud voices irritated the handsome man standing nearby.

He didn’t like loud noises.

He turned toward them with an annoyed expression.

“You two...”

Then he looked at Seo-yeon.

“This isn’t your father’s airport. You don’t have to shout this loudly.”

Seo-yeon looked at him in surprise.

She didn’t like his attitude.

Without thinking twice, she replied,

“And this isn’t your father’s airport either, Mr.”

The man stopped.

For a moment, he simply stared at her.

Then he raised one eyebrow.

“Actually...”

He looked at her calmly.

“It is my father’s airport, Miss.”

Seo-yeon’s eyes widened.

She didn’t know what to say.

For the first time, she looked at him properly.

Before she could respond, the man’s assistant arrived.

“Boss, your car is here.”

The man handed his bag to his assistant.

He gave Seo-yeon one last look before walking away.

Seo-yeon stood there silently, watching him leave.

Ha-eun looked at her with a smile.

“See? I told you. He’s unbelievably handsome.”

Seo-yeon quickly looked away.

“Handsome, maybe. But he’s so arrogant.”

Ha-eun smiled.

But Seo-yeon couldn’t completely forget the man she had just met.

She had only seen him for a few minutes.

Yet somehow...

his face stayed in her mind.
