The birth
The Village is very calm today. It’s the middle of night and a very calm night. On such a comfortable night, one person is very tense. He is thinking of so many different things. Looking a lot worried. WHY? Because his wife is pregnant and she is in labor pain for about 4 hours.
This man named Rocks, is very worried. He has three wives and 3 children, but none took so long. His tension started to show on his face. And one of his wives left the room.
“How is she? It’s been too long! What is happening? All the maids are just running around and not telling anything. Is there anything serious? Please tell me what I can do!!!” He shouted in panic.
His wife smiled and hugged him. “It’s okay Honey! Nothing is there to worry about. Just relax, okay! It’s just our little one seems like a little naughty type who is just taking a little more time that’s it. Okay!” She told him to give him comfort.
“But Ain’t this too long.” He calmed down a little but still is worried.
“I am the doctor here okay! I am mostly looking after all the child births in our village. So you have to trust your wife and let us do our work. Just sit and relax okay!” She replied a little strictly.
“Okay Okay!” He calmed down and laughed a little. “I will do as you say, Astra!”
“Very good! Just wait a little while okay!” She told him calmly and went back into the room.
Rocks went to the living room and sat on the sofa where his second wife, Valac, was waiting patiently for the news and drinking tea. “Haha! Didn’t I tell you to just sit and be comfortable, You just annoyed Astra again.” She teased Rocks while offering him tea.
“Honey relax, it’s not your first time in childbirth, sometimes naughty kids take more time. Here, have tea and relax. Okay!” Rocks took the tea and sat with her.
“You are right Valac. I think it’s good I just don’t interfere and wait here.” Then he drinks his tea and asks Valac, “Are all the kids asleep now?”
“Yeah, all of them are asleep now. Although all three insisted on waiting to see their baby sibling. But Ruth being the bigger brother forced them to bed.” She replied.
“HAHAHA! Ruth is really very sincere. Always do things to lose our tension. He will be a great Viking someday.” Being proud he told Valac. “Indeed! He will be a great ruler to our village. After all he is like his mother, always calm and making wise decisions. No wonder she is the only one who can scold you in any situation.” With a laugh Valac replied.
“Well, Astra really is something! She is not just the strongest healer of our village but also a great Doctor too.” He said proudly.
Suddenly they started hearing a tiny voice from the room. A small kid is weeping heavily. Rocks and Valac rushed to the room.
They saw Astra with a baby crying. She took the baby and told the maids and nurses to do the rest. She came near those two standing.
“Honey! Congratulations, It’s a Baby Boy!” She showed the little baby to Rocks and Valac.
“Awww! Just look at him, he has the same red hair as his mother. Look at his face, honey it looks a lot like you. And such a white skin. He will look a lot more handsome in future, I can bet.” Valac replied being too happy. It seems she saw a little baby for the first time.
“Haha! Valac you are right! He is too adorable, I guess all the extra wait is really worth it. I can sense a great amount of Mana in him already. He will be a great warrior like Agni. By the way, Astra How is Agni doing? Is she okay? The labour time was about six hours, is she alright?”
“Yes, yes honey. Don’t worry. She is perfectly fine! It’s just been a long time since she was exhausted so she is taking a rest. I will be here all night if she or the baby needs anything so don’t worry, okay.” Astra replied.
Agni just opened her eyes.
Astra took the baby near her.
“Look Agni, your little baby boy!” She speaks while crying joyous tears.
She puts the baby near her and helps her move. Agni sees her baby for the first time. The baby has fair skin like Agni, Hair of Crimson Red color like Agni and face like Rocks.
“Ahh, he is so tiny! My beautiful son.” Then she cried and hugged her son. Rocks and Valac also come near the bed and sit beside her.
“He will be so handsome like his brothers Ruth and El.” Valac told everyone.
“You are right Valac, He will be. Gosh he is so adorable.” Agni replied.
Suddenly the baby starts crying again. Now Agni is trying to get up, Astra and Valac are worried for her. “Don’t push yourself too hard, you must be tired. Please let us take care of the baby now, we are here for you all night okay!” Rocks told Agni.
“Yes Agni, Don’t push too hard, This naughty one took too much of your stamina. You should rest today okay. Otherwise the wound will reopen!” Astra insisted Agni take a rest. And after some time she fell asleep.
The next morning,
Rocks is on his way to Agni’s room. He is excited to see his newborn baby. His kids run past him, “Let’s go PAPA! Or you will be late to see our baby brother.”
Ruth said while running towards Agni’s room. “Hahaha! Don’t run kids, your baby brother is not going to run away okay!” The kids barged into the room with Rocks.
He saw Agni sitting on her bed, breast feeding the baby. Valac and Astra are sitting near in deep thoughts.
“Let me see, Let me see!” Ruth told everyone.
“Just wait a minute dear, your brother is eating right now.” Agni replied.
“Oh my, What are you three doing here this early. You should first take a bath and get ready first.” Astra scolds all three of them.
“But mother, we have been waiting to see our brother since last time.” Ruth replied in very excitement.
“Hahaha! It’s okay Astra, they were so excited from the last few months. Don’t tell them to wait anymore. Right kids!” Agni replied, being calm and patting the baby while he was eating.
“Alright, but I am giving you permission because you told me to. But no one will touch him or he will get sick. I’m only looking for one now!” Being strict on children again Astra told them.
“Yes” All three of them replied.
All three kids go near the newborn around Agni and the baby. “Wow! He is so cute. Look how tiny he looks!” Rune replied gently so as not to startle the baby.
“You are right he has such a tiny hand! Can I touch the baby mother Agni, please…” El requested with puppy eyes. Agni was about to give permission and one hand came beside him and pinched his cheek.
“Awwwwwww!!! It hurts mother” El shouted. “What was my first instruction? NO TOUCHING!!!” Astra told El with little annoyance.
“I… am… I am sorry!!!” El speaks with little tears in his eyes. “Good” Astra releases the pinch and kisses his forehead with a pamper.
“Now let the baby rest, kids, you all should get ready now. It’s time for your school.” Valac said while entering the room.
“But I have a question!” Ruth replied. “Yes son what is it?” Rocks asked him.
“What will be his name? I wanna know!!!” Ruth replied and his siblings also agreed.
Now all the eyes were on Rocks. “Indeed dear, you are right. What should we name your younger brother?” Rocks also went in thoughts. “Well I think we should let Agni decide his name. What do you think Honey?” Astra suggested.
“Hmm… You are absolutely right! Agni you definitely should be the one to name our child. Do you have any suggestions?” Now all six are looking at Agni.
“Ever since I was pregnant, I have been thinking of several names. But one I found suitable for him.” Agni replied while patting the little baby.
“What is it?” Rocks asked.
“Roar... Roar Rocksson Wolfheart.”
Everyone was silent. Agni felt like she made the wrong name and suddenly…
“Wow! What a beautiful name, Agni!” Valac shouted! And everyone agrees.
“Yes! Valac you are right, it really is a very good name. This name is really suitable for the Viking warrior.” Rocks told everyone.
“Yes, I love this name too, father.” Rune shouted with full excitement. “Me, too!” other kids shouted too.
“You all love this name right! Thank god I thought no one liked this name when you were silent.” Agni replied with some tears.
“It really is a very nice name, Agni” Astra replied while whipping her tears.
