Chapter 1

I woke up to Cree in rage because he messed up on his work. I stood up and went toward the door to peek at what he was doing. when I peeked in I saw him working and a glass bottle shattered on the ground with black liquid spilling from it. I looked away and started to think. I want to help him but it doesn't seem safe but I need to do something. I looked to find walking toward the door, I panicked and ran to bed and pretended to sleep. I heard the door open and footsteps getting closer. “I know you're awake... mind telling me why your up this late.″ he said. I slightly moved and the blankets then stood up. “I heard something break then wondered if you were ok....” I looked up to see him looking at me with one brow up, with a straight face. “mhm.” as he was about to leave I spoke making him stop. “wait....I..‘sigh’ I want to help you..” I said looking at the back of his head.

He turned his head slightly to where I can see his eyes. “No Lela... it's too powerful for you” ‘then make me stronger...Please.″ “sigh’... fine.” he said then left.

**present time**

It’s been two years since and Cree said today is when he would let me help him.

I head to school with my Freind who waited for me by my door, her name is Alyssa Roque. Alyssa and I walk to school every day of the week.

once I enter the school, the bell rang so Alyssa and I had to get to class. she had science and I had math.

As I was jogging to school I bumped into a kid he's books and folder fell, he seemed to be new here, I got on my knees and helped him pick up his books “I’m so sorry about that... I wasn't looking ahead of me.” I said as we both got up “oh no it’s ok..really.” ′ ok... I'm glad that you're fine.... oh here your books.” I said as I give his books. “thank you” He said back and then we both headed to class, the funny thing is that we both had math.

The kid and I both sat down next to each other since there were no other seats left.

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
