save the heir

ANDREW

My fingers rested on my temples while I had my back against a wall. I closed my eyes and tried to think clearly.

problems. There were always problems. Never could any of my men come up to me and tell me: “Hey boss, we were successful, everything went great.”

These men in front of me probably lacked the necessary brain for that. I would love to throw one of them on my desk by force until it broke and I could hear their bones cracking, but my ebony table was too expensive for any of them, so I left this thought in the back of my head. I opened my eyes again and stared at the wall in front of me for a while- trying to calm my wolf.

When I turned to them, they gasped.

Because my eyes were white like the snow, an abnormal white. Eyes that gave me endless respect and authority.

The eyes of the rightful heir to the king’s throne.

My father’s throne. Nature has made sure that the king’s firstborn is usually recognizable by this color of their eyes. Those eyes gave me respect and awe for those around me.

But I will not take the throne. No! I will overthrow him. I will overthrow my father and his family and rake my mother.

My mother. My blood. The woman who loved him endlessly. Sadly she had not been his mate. So when my father found her- his mate he forgot the feelings and love he once had for her and me and had her executed at the request of his new mate.

He would certainly have killed me too if my mother’s best friend hadn’t saved me. She had raised me and her son together.

His name was Nathaniel and he was three years older than me. His mother Svenja hated the royal family for what they did to my mother and wished nothing but death for everyone involved.

When I was 12, she was murdered too. The whole kingdom knew how she was murdered- by my father's hand. He had torn her to pieces and left no solid part. No one really cared about her death as she wasn’t really held in high esteem.

When Nathaniel and I found out about this, I cried. She had never been really loving to me which is not surprising since I had my father’s face on my shoulders. I had his eyes and hair color. She had to look into the eyes of her best friend’s killer every day, so why would she treat me like I deserve better? But still, I cried, it should have been me dying, breathing my last breath in a darkened cell, but it was her.

At that specific moment, I decided to take revenge. For my mother and Svenja.

More than eight years have passed since then and I’ve gotten a little closer to my goal every day, but not close enough.

It won’t be long before I’ll be able to destroy them. I’m going to shred my father as he did to Svenja.
