About Brooks Guill

I'm Brooks Guill, a young horror writer from Kentucky. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and horror has always been my home. There's something about the dark that just makes sense to me — the things we're afraid to say, the fears we don't admit to, the monsters that don't need claws to be terrifying.I draw a lot of inspiration from Kentucky folklore — the Pope Lick Monster, the hollers, the stories that get passed down in whispers. But I also write about the horror of everyday life: body image, longing, the people we love who don't love us back the same way.I publish the HUSH anthology series, standalone horror stories connected by dread, along with poetry and other dark fiction. I'm still early in my journey as a writer, but I'm building something, one story at a time.
