"Another wonderful novel by this author. As usual, it stands out for its sense of humor, complex and realistic characters, and plots in which there's more to it than you initially think. In this novel, we travel back to the 90s on more than one occasion, reliving the not-so-longed-for adolescence and the headaches it brings. And at the same time, we see the havoc it wreaked on the protagonists' adult lives. It's worth noting how well the time jumps are handled, sometimes with a smooth transition from the present through a passage from Iona's diary or an internal reflection that leads to further explanations. In itself, the love story has that endearing touch of first love, but at the same time, it's bittersweet when revisited from an adult perspective. With more than one intrigue, the novel keeps us hooked, wanting to know the reason for heartbreak and hoping to reach the long-awaited happy ending. My heartfelt congratulations to the author! 👏👏👏"

"After I read the first book from this author, I had to binge read all her pieces. All her books are sweet and cute and funny, sometimes even hilarious. Her writing style is refreshing and unique (though beware, she writes in british english, so if you suffer from need to correct every word to american spelling, you may get super anxious 😱😁). Even though the books are rather short, all the main characters have depth, are real, you completely understand their motivations and actions. You can choose any of the books and be sure you'll enjoy yourself (so good pick with this one 😉). And now something specific for this book - I can almost guarantee that in the middle of the book (at the latest) you'll feel the urge to grab Iona's shoulders and shake her really hard to make her see reason and finally speak to Ryan! But then you need to admit to yourself that you most likely wouldn't open up to someone who hurt you so... So you brace yourself, get to understand that looking from outside is so much easier, and keep reading barely breathing to see the long awaiting happy ending. And then, when it comes, you wish there still would be another chapter so you don't have to say goodbye to Iona and Ryan. True story. So stop wasting your time reading my review and go read the real stuff 😃"

"It really ropes you into an emotional roller coaster! Love these friendship love stories! They hit so close to home because people do deal with these long lost love scenarios. In this case this couple took such a long time to be honest with each other that it took several heartbreaks and years to come to terms with their true love for each other. I could not even fathom how it could have gone that long without ever talking to someone about how they really feel. It’s sad! Glad it worked out but imagine if it didn’t though and it does happen that two people will never admit how they feel for each other and die of a broken heart. 💔 "
