"Still sitting here somewhat stunned. For me, this isn't my usual choice and I almost abandoned it but felt the author deserved a go. I am glad I stuck it out because, WOW, it is something else. It's messy, it's dark and it's corrupt. And, the final chapters, shockingly unexpected. Rose - a brilliantly written character, fearless and dangerous. Octav leads a somewhat ordinary life until he meets Rose and suddenly his life becomes not so ordinary. A plot with quite a few twists and surprises. Not a bad read afterall."
