Athena war der Prügelknabe des Rudels. Die Sklavin – so nannten sie viele ihrer Rudelkameraden. Ihr Geburtstag stand kurz bevor. Normalerweise war ihr das egal, doch diesmal war es ihr 17. Geburtstag. An diesem Tag wird sie volljährig und findet ihren Mate. Es ist hoffentlich der Tag, an dem sie ihr schreckliches Leben hinter sich lassen kann. Doch was passiert, wenn sie herausfindet, dass ihr Mate ausgerechnet die Person ist, die ihr das meiste Leid zugefügt hat? Wird sie allen vergeben und ihre Luna werden? Oder wird er sie verstoßen und die Qualen gehen weiter?
Ares wurde nach dem Tod seines Vaters vor zehn Jahren zum Alpha King ernannt. Da er der König ist, muss er zweimal im Jahr die Rudel in seinem Territorium kontrollieren. Er sorgt dafür, dass alles glattläuft. Er wollte gerade ein Rudel besuchen, doch ein Problem mit einem Rogue hielt ihn auf. Deshalb kam er zu spät zu dem Mädchen, das seine Hilfe so dringend brauchte. Als er in sein Schloss zurückkehrt, bringt sein Beta Neuigkeiten. Es gibt eine neue menschliche Frau, für die sich sein Wolf plötzlich brennend interessiert. Niemand scheint zu wissen, wer sie ist oder woher sie kommt. Können sie dieses Geheimnis lüften?
