Summary

After enduring severe trauma that left her feeling shattered and vulnerable, Nara makes the bold decision to flee to the bustling city of Seoul-in her quest for solace and a way to escape her emotional pain, hoping that its energy can dull her lingering heartache. However, her attempt to find peace proves fleeting when she crosses paths with Ji, a charismatic and seductive individual who quickly becomes a vital part of her life. As their friendship blossoms, Nara is drawn into a world filled with warmth and tension, and their bond deepens in unexpected ways. Yet, as their relationship evolves, buried secrets surface, unveiling a tangled web of lies, deceit, and betrayal that threatens to shatter everything Nara thought she knew. With the weight of their hidden past looming over them, she faces an agonizing dilemma: should she continue to run, abandoning the possibility of healing, or muster the courage to confront the fierce storm ahead? Nara stands at a crossroads, unsure which path will lead her toward healing or further despair.

prelude

Nara

My legs felt heavy and unresponsive as if they were stuck in quicksand. I kept repeating, "Go, go, go," my voice echoing like a desperate chant. Yet, no matter how hard I pushed, it seemed as though the world around me moved in slow motion. The trees blurred by in a haze of green, their leaves rustling in a barely noticeable breeze, while the ground beneath my feet felt distant and unyielding. Each step required an immense effort, and I could almost see the moments stretching out, dragging on like molasses. Frustration bubbled inside me, urging my limbs to move faster, to break free from the invisible shackles holding me back.

A torrent of thoughts surged through my mind, each one competing for attention as my heart thudded against my chest like a drum, echoing the urgency of my situation. I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins, heightening my senses. As I approached the corner, I swung left sharply, my feet pounding against the pavement, propelling me forward with an intense determination. The air was crisp and filled with the sounds of my rapid breaths, mixed with the distant noise of the city as I continued to sprint, my focus unwavering and my resolve unshakeable.

If only I had been able to pick up the pace just a little bit. If only I could summon the strength and determination to push myself beyond my limits and run harder than I ever have. Every moment feels like a missed opportunity, and I can’t help but wonder how different things might have turned out if I had only been quicker and more relentless in my pursuit. I saw a large crowd ahead of me, and as I approached, I heard people gasping in shock. My heart constricted as I heard screams and shouts. I struggled to push through the crowd until I finally found a clear space. As I made my way into the opening, my body froze.

Then, I fell to my knees and screamed.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.

Wendy Salvo: I really liked this story but now that I’ve read all three I wanted to come back with a thought, the forward on this story talks about a reverse harem and not having to choose, but there isn’t any choice, or thought of a harem until the moment she connects with them, there is only foreshadowing of o...
