Take Me As I Am

Summary

It was little things at first, things I didn't even consider to be an issue. Questions here and there about what I was wearing, or how I wore my hair. We were members of the same rugby club, best friends turned lovers. Invites Jack didn't extend and when questioned, he just shrugged and said it was a work thing. He'd look sheepish, apologize and we'd move on. He'd whisper words in his sleep that I couldn't quite decipher but when he called out someone else's name during the throes of passion, I could no longer live in denial. So, I let Jack go. I've been raised to love and accept people as they are. I don't know how to be anyone but me. But sometimes even shallow cuts by the ones you love the most cause the deepest wounds and I need to learn to love myself again. I have known I've loved Penny from the very moment she launched herself into my arms after winning the grand final 3 years ago. Penelope is so kind, patient and fun. She is also loud, boisterous and very much the tomboy. When we're in the privacy of our shared home or our rugby world, those things don't matter. However, in my other world, with my well to do family and my role as a consultant for my family's business, unfortunately appearances do matter. Or, so I thought. "For me to even consider accepting love from Jack again, he'll have to be prepared to take me as I am."

Thank you, not really. Just living in the moment. Not taking life too seriously and living day to day 💕

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.

readingtoday77: This story is so very sweet. I really like each main character's emotional evolution, especially Liam working through difficult past betrayal and tragedy to be able to take a chance and love again. Wendy Salvo: I really liked this story but now that I’ve read all three I wanted to come back with a thought, the forward on this story talks about a reverse harem and not having to choose, but there isn’t any choice, or thought of a harem until the moment she connects with them, there is only foreshadowing of o...
