The Best Book I've Read on Inkitt
"I loved this story. The tension, the character development, the plot development - everything was perfect. I was hooked and coming back for more. The yearning was chef's kiss. It was a proper enemies to lovers and both main leads were morally grey which was interesting to see. I don't want to spoil the ending but it was bittersweet and I am still thinking about it. The decision must have been very hard for Dani and I think she made the right choice. The two love each other but still have to come to terms with the mutual hurt. Well done, Dani! This was a terrific read."

OBSESSED!! CANT STOP READING 😭😭😭
"You know the feeling when you read a good book and you just CANT stop reading it but you GOTTA do it cause you are a human being afterall and you need food, sleep, etc?! Well this book sucked me right in!! Seriously, the more I read the more interesting the plot gets! It is an enemy to lovers story and besides friend to lovers, this is also my favorite trope 💕 Why? Cause no matter how many plots like this in Inkitt or wherever, be it movie, novel, etc, I WILL always read this and get sucked into it (and wildly enjoy it as well for sure)!♡ The different between the stories are just good, better, and best, and after 7 chapters reading it this story is definitely hovering between better and best!! Yes, it has some cliches typical anti-hero/ a hole hero with attitide bullying scholarship student and they hated each other. But so what! The execution of this novel is top notch! I feel like reading a real book and also, best of all, the characters feel real and just, like, you can feel them through the pages, you know! Not to mention the tension! Since the first page Kian Atkins' hotness already pouring off the pages 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Also every moment between him and Lyra just full of spice even though they dont do anything besides passive aggresively challenging each other! Ugh I just love this two! Will definitely keep reading this! Good job Dani! Love love love the story ❤️🩷"
All the perfect ingredients!
"I am fairly new to Inkett and its authors but I have been writing and reading online stories for years now. I know a good story and talented author when I read one. Many people focus on the plot of a story, like whether or not it's gripping or entertaining. For me, however, there are three main ingredients a story needs before I grade the plot. They are the relatability of the characters, the setting of the stage, and the flow of the conversations. In Scorched Earth, the main character is Lyra, a sassy yet insecure young woman who struggles in a world of the rich and famous. She's a fighter other women look up to and a beauty (although she doesn't think so) every man desires, including her nemesis, Kian. Her emotions are ones I would feel if I were in her shoes and ones I have felt in my own personal life. Lyra feels very real to me so it's not difficult to imagine myself in the story. This is an essential element of a book. If a reader can't connect with the main character, the plot won't have the effect an author wants. No matter where Lyra is, the author describes the stage she's placed her character on perfectly. From the pounding bass, flashing lights, and smell of beer of the opening party scene to the historical Emerson Hill Academy where Lyra attends school, I can feel, hear, and see all the things she does. The author's ability to immerse her readers in the world she has created is spectacular. She uses simple words to describe detailed scenes which draws the reader out of the real world and into hers. Without a rich and colorful stage on which their characters live out their lives, an author will have a difficult time keeping a person's attention. Before they even get to the meat of the plot, the reader will move on to another story in search of a world they feel comfortable in. Finally, this author's talent for writing conversations that flow so naturally I can hear all her characters in my head is amazing! Putting what my own characters say in my head into written words has always been a challenge for me. I admire and respect writers who master this complex part of creating characters that feel genuine. It didn't matter if Lyra was talking to her best friend, Mina, about clothes or if she was having a verbal duel with Kian. In every conversation, I can hear the characters talking in my head as if I was part of the scene. Readers will become attached to Lyra, Kian, and all the characters on a deeper level because of this. This author has done a fabulous job of combining all these ingredients into a delicious story filled with humor, friendship, angst, and desire. Lyra and Kian's hatred for each other is tangible. But that boiling hate soon becomes a low simmer of lust. The supporting characters are like the seasonings that compliment the main dish perfectly. I've only just begun this story but I can already tell that when Lyra and Kian finally get together, it's going to be a spectacular explosion of desire and will leave me breathless. Grab some popcorn and a drink and join me as this author takes us on what I'm sure will be a wild ride!"

"This revenge romance story offers a captivating premise with plenty of emotional drama, tension, and passion that will draw readers in. The plot centers around themes of betrayal, love, and revenge, and the author does a good job keeping the tension high as the characters’ motivations as past secrets are revealed. The chemistry between the main characters is intense, creating a push-and-pull dynamic that keeps the story engaging. The romance, though dark and at times emotionally charged, adds depth to their interactions. The revenge element is well woven into the plot, giving the reader a strong sense of anticipation for the inevitable confrontations. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. The main female character is my fav one because i know how it feels in migraines. Personally i have been in the same condition when i was 19. Fans of revenge romance with a darker edge will likely enjoy this book, especially if they're looking for intense emotions and morally complex characters. The author has potential and is on the right path to delivering a gripping tale! "

"Everything about it was pretty cute, funny and interesting. The beginning made it very amusing and there was a bit of punctuation that could be worked on. There wasn’t anything too lacking. The story is moving along well with characters that make it only better if you keep reading it. Being a bit of a fast reader, I had gotten to the end of the few chapters. I would re-read it again though <3"

"This story is so good! The title "Scorched Earth" grabbed me and I was very pleasantly surprised that just the first chapter had me hooked! This is a REAL enemies to lovers story. I laughed out loud when Lyra vomited on Kian and smiled about it, that was so good. And I am DYING to find out their history, what made them hate each other so much (although already Kian seems totally awful in these flashbacks), and why Kian says that Mina wouldn't be friends with Lyra anymore if she knew everything. I also have a bad feeling that this Benji stuff is going to end poorly :( but anyway, keep up the great work! I can't wait to read more!!!"
