My first original romance!
"I think it’s cool that we can review our own books here on Inkitt! FASHION AND FERVOR is quite dear to my heart. It was my first original romance I’ve ever written, and there was a lot of thought and effort put into it. Billionaire/CEO romance tropes are some of my favorite, but I thought what could I do to make my book different than others. Making Cassian a mixed guy (Italian and Korean, which was inspired by Massimo from 365 Days and guys from K-dramas or basically BTS considering I also write Park Jimin fanfics) I think made him different and less generic. I took some inspiration from Pinterest on what I thought he looked like in my mind, and while I wanted him to still be this cold/dominant CEO, I also wanted there to be a backstory of why he acted so closed off. Bring in my main girl, Maeve, the good girl who has strong morals, but still sticks up for herself. Just a truly well-rounded person who was raised well, but has also experienced loss just like Cassian. I wanted the reader to feel their chemistry burning through the screen, so I hope I articulated that. I think from their first encounter, something more was bound to happen between them. Discovering each other (whether it was God, fate, destiny, or all of the above) really changed their worlds. I also loved mixing the friends, siblings, and parents into the book, bringing more realism to it. I always hope people can somewhat relate to my books and the characters in them. I understand some of the situations can be a bit unrealistic, but things like losing a parent, friendships, etc. can be relatable. These two characters are dear to my heart, and because I’m a hopeless romantic, I will always give my books a happy ending. I loved how spicy and steamy I made this book, with a few dark themes mixed in there. Seeing how these two connected on deeper emotional level made me content; it was my goal for them to bond about the loss of their parents. I lost my dad IRL about 10 years ago, so it was easy for me to write Maeve’s character. Thank you for all your love and support, and I hope you enjoy Cassian and Maeve as much I enjoyed writing them! 😊"
