"I absolutely loved the way the book began. The characters were interesting and deeply connected. My absolute favorite was in the way the male lead and female too fell hard for each other and the amazing writing that brought that out. Writing is good! But about 75% into book it started to get randomly dramatic and ended really badly. My personal feeling is that the book would still have been great without all the twists and turns. It didn’t need soap opera level romance to have us hooked in my view. Norhing about what writer rationalized as her last minute choices to be with Roman felt like a good reason. It didn’t feel convincing and had too many holes but the intent had potential. It ended with me not liking any of the characters and felt like I had invested too much time by the end not to read it fully - but I take full accountability for forcing myself to read it quickly in the last 25% 😅. So if you’re into drama for the sake of drama this is for you but if you’re into satisfying endings and stories with meaning this isn’t for you. "
