A non-traditional shifter story straddling old school fantasy and romantic suspense
"The author says at the start that they wanted this to be a ‘non-traditional shifter novel’ and they definitely achieve that aim 🙂 The story is set in a dystopian ‘new world’ where shifters and humans interact. This story is 80% action/mystery and 20% slow burn romance. It takes a few chapters before we are introduced to the male lead - who is not a traditional shifter. There is a lot packed into the storyline. A lot of plot twists snd moments of intrigue where unexpected revelations change the whole story. There are also a lot of characters and different places mentioned. For me it felt a little bit convoluted trying to remember who was who. It feels like a cross between the deep world building of traditional fantasy, and the emotional depth of modern romantic suspense stories without really committing to either genre. 🎥 Single perspective - the female lead 🤬 Some incidental swearing. 🔪 Some action violence. 💋 Some graphic sex scenes. 🔚 The story has a natural end point. But we are left with a few unanswered questions. "
I really enjoyed reading this honestly and it had some mystery to solve out with slow burning love , nothing to dislike really although many characters to catch up .... it had a really another blew plot I haven't met through
