Very slow burn
"This book is well written with a good plot and characters. It also has a lot of wordy details about the characters’ thoughts and feelings as well as the settings. I personally prefer more dialogue between the characters so it’s not one of my favorite books even though it is very well written. "
Nice idea, poorly executed
"It's a decent overview for a story (although some of the plot details are not properly explained; the overall story arc is fine), but hampered by being hugely descriptive to the point of lengthy repetitions all over the place. It's described by the author as a slow burn, but it's actually not - the main couple get together fairly quickly and smoothly (compared to the length of the overall book), but what makes it long is just very detailed descriptions of everything, without the plot moving forward. Also, maybe a minor point, but yet another story where a young woman abandons her education and settles down to raise a family (even if it is as a queen). She could at least have returned to graduate from university! I persevered with it to the end because it was readable, and there were no technical problems, but it was a chore. "
