"The plot is gripping and exudes tenderness, although it does contain some violent scenes. The characters are well-developed and fit seamlessly into the story. Everything unfolds ‘at its own pace’, calmly, with one exception... the time gap between leaving home and the ‘reunion’ – two weeks... just... for Isabella to manage to do everything described, in two different countries... in fact, on two different continents – is simply too long. Not least because one of them is Italy, and in Italy everything has a different pace... very typical of Mediterranean countries... things have to be talked through, discussed, negotiated... just a suggestion. As for the text, it needs proofreading."
