Might she have a "happily ever after" at the end ? Well, that is not as yet certain. There are dramas, rivals, killers, the dead, and worst of all...... family to contend with"

The ending does leave me wondering what is going to happen and how Rachel and Cole's story is going to develop. Also hints that humans can't really survive Alphas, hoping that the next installation of this story explains this and the whole need for a strong spiritual energy in more detail. Recommended."

""A witch, a ghost and a werewolf walk into a bar". This sentence alone describes perfectly what this story is like, and you won't regret reading it. I'm going to be blunt, I've been in love with this story since the first chapter. It has been so far an amazing read. Fun, interesting, exciting and a total pageturner. There is a lot I want to say so I'll try to make some bullet points to make my point across, as there are multiple reasons I have fallen in love with the story. 1. The characters; They are well defined and they feel full fleshed and three-dimensional. Each of them has a unique voice, which makes them more realistic. Rachel herself is an amazing character. She suffers from schizophrenia which has made her into sort of a disappointment to her strict, snobbish mother. Yet this experience has turned her into a sort of loose cannonball. She is sarcastic, funny, strong, and a good person. Despite everything she goes through and despite the fact some people are nasty to her, she still has enough good will to help them if they're in trouble. She's easy to like and a lot of fun to read, which is kind of important since we see the story through her eyes. She's also proactive, and whenever she falls, she stands back up. Cole is the male main character, and all I'm going to say (for now), is that I started disliking him and now I love him. He's as sarcastic as Rachel is, which makes them an amazing couple when they're together. 2. The story's tone and the writing; The story has this constant dark humor tone, sort of like Deadpool, that I really like. The writing is also very well done, making it fluid, easy to follow and a delightful read in itself. I don't recall reading any major mistake (and I get distracted easily if there are too many mistakes) so I assume there aren't many, and definitely not glaring. 3. The banter; One of the best things the story has are the conversations, specially between Cole and Rachel. The two of them make an amazing couple, and they have so much chemistry. The dialogue also includes plenty of Rachel's thoughts in between, and honestly, many of these have left me cracking. She's amazing. 4. The couple; This is a romance story after all, and honestly, I love them. At first I wasn't keen on Cole since he seemed like a douche, but the more I read about him, the more I liked him. He's as sarcastic as Rachel, but he also has a huge heart, and he feels somewhat like a lazy labrador, a clown who will do everything to make you laugh. Something unique about this story is that he is NOT the alpha (and honestly, what a RELIEF), which makes everything even more special. He's the beta of sorts and wants nothing to do with being an alpha. With such an alpha saturation, seeing the main character fall in love with a normal guy is like a breath of fresh air. We need more of these, honestly, I'm so tired of the main character getting the alpha emperor king of kings of all lycan wolves because she can't have anything but the very best. I really miss the "girl falls in love with her childhood friend" stories. 5. The plot; The story is not only romance, there is a mystery going on there that involves a ghost (I was being totally serious about the ghost), an angel, the mages (witches, seers, whatever they are), and the werewolves, and yup, Rachel is in the middle. This is the type of story that, when you get an answer to a question, it opens more questions, and you want to know more. 6. The romance; IT'S HEALTHY. Yes, it seems like I have to scream it, but these two have so much chemistry together, and their romance is the healthiest I've seen on the site in like forever. Cole is a jackass but he loves her and wants to protect her and take care of her, and Rachel accepts his supernatural nature without making a drama. Even when they are fated mates, they don't just fall in love and are inseparable at first sight, it feels more like a connection, but the feelings have to grow the old-fashioned way (which is far more cool than woosh, instalove). They've been growing their friendship since the start, and seeing their relationship develop step by step has been amazing. Their teasing, their conversations, how they care for each other, it's just a healthy romance, and we really need more of these. So summarizing, it's an amazing story, one of the best I've read so far on Inkitt. The writing, the characters, the tone, the worldbuilding, all these elements fit perfectly with each other. I'm somewhat picky with the stories I read, and the fact that I'm still praising this one by chapter 26, it means I'm enjoying it greatly. ^_^"
