"I read this in one sitting. I genuinely could not put it down. I kept telling myself “just one more chapter,” and then suddenly there were no chapters left. Now I kind of wish I had read it a little slower, because I already know I’m going to miss this story so much. It was incredibly heartbreaking, but it was also beautiful. The kind of boom that hurt a little, but you’re still grateful for it. I’ll be honest, I hated the MMC for a good part of the book. I was so frustrated with him at first. But somewhere along the way, that changed. You start to understand him, and then you really feel for him. By the end, I loved him. The way he loved the FMC felt so real and so deep, despite everything that happened in the past. It really showed, and honestly, I think he deserved forgiveness. As for the FMC, I still have mixed feelings. I went back and forth on her the entire book. There were moments I liked her, and moments when I wasn’t so sure. I think part of me just wanted her to give as much as he did, and I’m still not completely convinced she did. That’s all I can say without giving any spoilers. But even with that, I completely loved this book. This is the fourth story I’ve read by this author, and it is definitely my favorite so far. Absolutely incredible work. I already know this is the kind of story I’ll come back to and read again someday."
