"The plot was perfect from the first paragraph. The characters seem to pop out of the page. And the author moves the story along its plot line with excellent prose. Your can hear the carriages rattling along cobblestone streets. A must read. At first, I wanted the story to be in the present time, but now I realize it wouldn't work."
