About Shae
I started writing when I was 11 years old. I am now 25 and have recently bore my first child. Crazy how time flies, haha.
After writing all of my ~practice~ novels (I've only written 8 in general, so you can imagine how many of those were dogwater and how much practice it's taken to get me to this point), I feel as though I've finally gotten my footing.
I know what I like, I know what works for me, I know the topics that interest me, I know the characters I love writing; I feel like I've finally found my voice as a writer.
Or at least, I hope I have, otherwise my entire writing hobby has been an utterly embarrassing sham.
I used to write to get things off my chest. I thought it was my only escape, a free therapy of sorts. And it still is sometimes. After every single hard thing I've gone through, I've found myself writing. After my mom died, after my dad left, after I came out and was faced with any kind of slur and bigotry you could imagine, after I met my boyfriend, after I got pregnant, after I gave birth.
Always, without fail.
And I want my daughter to see that her mama didn't let her passion go to waste. I want her to be 20 years old and be inspired to continue her own hobbies, even if there is no money or attention in it. I want her to see that fanning the flame just for the flame's sake and the enjoyment of the flame is what it's all about.
Creation is beautiful. Creation is necessary. Creation is what the human soul yearns for.
