"In all honesty this was a horribly written story. It was like the author tried to shove multiple story lines into one book instead of just sticking to one and building on that. I understand there needs to be a bit of drama and mystery but this was so chaotic and so disorganized not a good read at all. Parts of it went so fast and others dragged out too long and unnecessarily. For example in the beginning of the book when everything starts happening to Katie and her brothers once they all meet up with the Carson's Katie and her brothers are overwhelmingly to accepting of everything without shock or anything and just jumped right into everything, quite unbelievable and unrealistic. Innate was overreacting to the way Katie didn't trust him at first which that whole plot line fell apart when Katie knew the whole time what had actually happened with her parents the storyline just didn't make sense."
