"The characters were very well done. Completely believable. The author has an excellent understanding of trauma and the way it can impact people. Also the way people, even well meaning ones, can misunderstand and behave imperfectly. However the lesson is clear. When you love someone you keep trying. Healing takes time. "

"These traumatized children were well described (Elliott/Eliza) There were too many in the family for me & often got in the way Elliott should have a 3 year old vocabulary by his birthday Eliza's progress was slow and quick at the same time, which is understandable I am sure we were all glad that she found security with Ethan and that Annabelle and her niece were justly sentenced I agree that a sequence to this story would be rewarding We would be able to see that, in so many ways, it is all in the family."

The only thing though that I wish is that was a little bit longer and that there was like a little bit of this is what she was like when she grew up and this is how healthy her brother became. Just something else to like let us know that they did good and are becoming healthier. Coming from abusive background myself I understand the pain and being scared of others. "
