Funny, Spicy and Hot 🔥
"Great characters Very descriptive writing Humor is on point. I can't believe how a coma situation came out so funny. Logan is an asshole, but an adorable asshole who doesn't hide it. I like the dynamics between Avery and Logan very much. She's just the kind of girl to root him, and he's just the kind of guy to make her lose her head. I can't wait to see how it develops. But is she assuming Logan is dumb, because he sounds like the kind of guy with that high IQ who use his brains for evil. He'll consume her. 😂"

"First Impression: We open with Logan, a walking hormonal concussion in skates, whose emotional maturity is somewhere between a frat boy keg party and a possum playing dead to avoid responsibility. And Avery, our allegedly brilliant FMC, who for some reason treats Google like it’s cursed dark magic. She’s smart, we’re told. Then she jumps headfirst into a hockey-flavored himbo hurricane without so much as a Wikipedia check. I screamed. My phone screamed. Siri wept. Let’s talk about the trauma-dump in the locker room: So Avery meets Logan’s teammates. And they act like... I don’t know... if frat house hazing mated with a Reddit incel thread and gave birth to “haha just kidding unless you’re into it” energy. They demand she strip. She says no. They push anyway. I'm sorry, what now? That's not banter. That’s a lawsuit in stilettos. Frankly, the whole scene gave me secondhand rage and the urge to file a fictional HR complaint. I’ve worked in male-dominated spaces, and this? This ain't it, babe. Logan’s contract offer: I’m just going to say it. That “you get a baby, I get to own you” deal? Is the kind of red flag that should come with sirens, an HR rep, and a binding restraining order. Like... bro. Chill. Maybe ask her what she wants instead of assuming your magic hockey sperm is everyone’s retirement plan. But—AND THIS IS A BIG BUT (like Logan’s ego): Once you get past the “Wait, should I hate everyone here?” phase... the story settles into an easy, tropey, warm romance blanket. Logan slowly redeems himself (sort of), the spice is chef’s kiss filthy in a good way, and you do root for them—if your tolerance for alpha-male mantrums is high enough to survive the first third. Writing style? Fast, clean, and addictive like midnight snacks during a depressive episode. Pacing is good once the story hits its stride, and dialogue? Snappy. Hot. Sometimes unhinged in the best way. I did feel the ending was rushed (I agree with Kristi on this one—WHERE WERE THE BABY SCENES, PENN?! GIVE ME TINY CHAOS GREMLINS), but I still devoured it like a goblin in heat. Final Verdict from Hellridge HQ: Read it if: You love your morally-gray men served with a side of dumb but hot and eventually kind of sweet. You enjoy enemies-to-"what the hell are we even doing right now" slow burn. You like steam, sass, and emotionally questionable decisions that somehow work out. Skip it if: You need your male leads to not open with lawsuit-worthy behavior. You prefer stories where the smart girl actually makes smart choices. You have zero tolerance for alpha male BS. 📱Read on my phone, sobbed into my tea, and now I need a comfort reread of something where the hero opens doors without legal threats."
