Intriguing story with strong characters that you root for and respect
"The story is good. Solid plot line and story development. The wording is a bit repetitive at times. The number of times it says “they had been marked against their will but...” is excessive and a bit annoying. Even so the story is good with enough detail to make it interesting and a lot of good underlying themes and values- solidarity, independence, consent, the value of a variety of skills, diversity as an asset, one’s humanity (emotional wellbeing and sense of self and of compassion for others) being just as important as physical survival... Good stuff and could be fleshed out just a little bit to be slightly less repetitive in phrasing but keep the same plot structure and character development. A really enjoyable read and I expect this author’s skill will increase as she keeps writing. I would certainly look forward to reading other books by this author in the future. "
