The Queen's Mage
"Wow! It's rare for me to find a sapphic fantasy book that I love, and even rarer that it's well written with a beautiful plot and slowly kindling romance. I'm happy that the author added some spicy scenes without it becoming overwhelming, but also really enjoyed how wlw (and, even more impressive, fated mate wlw) in this fantasy world is completely unremarkable. There's a sort of novelty in that which highlights what I typically love about fantasy - it is an escape, but also often a mirrored version of reality. This novel blended true and accurate aspects of human nature with a detailed and creative fantasy world, one which mirrored our own past and present in some ways but not in others."
Stylized, evocative, and endearing
"The story is indeed a slow burn as it says, it takes its time, it lets the characters sit with their situation and gives the reader space to digest that. The dialogue between characters is on the surface the same between every and any two characters but that’s only in the style that shows performance; the goals, motives, thoughts and personality is contained in the content. All the characters have a similar delivery of their humor but not the same sense in all cases. The writing does a good job of not holding your hand while also not hiding behind unnecessary mystery and symbolism. If there is mystery or symbolism then it is not just for us readers and that is an important distinction. The characters themselves grow on you as you read, the first MC we are introduced to is admirable in their struggles and dangerously endearing as many others discover in the story so far. The second MC is surprisingly clumsy but makes up for it with determination and the will to do the right thing. The side characters ebb and flow in how much they appear centrally but they don’t leave and the shape of each of them develops naturally, not forced. Never forced. The book is honest about its goals and open in its delivery, so I’d say that you should make the choice to read it if the synopsis compels you. Because choosing is important."
Wonderful work....Almost
"So far this story is told quite well. Sometimes the back and forth banter gets a bit monotonous, but still punctual and funny at times. The author almost wants to convey a lot of witty dialog. Almost. (You'll get that later.) Waiting for the story to start getting very serious. And will keep reading avidly as new chapters are released. Im anticipating great things from this story. "
Super cute slow-burn with real emotional weight
"(I discovered this story originally on another site, but saw the author's note about it being available here in a potentially more complete version). I really love this story. The world-building feels great - it doesn't just sit in the background, it actually shapes what the characters are going through. The cast is varied and funny, their personalities and interactions feel genuinely interesting: they aren't just one-dimensional. I especially love how supportive (and conspiring!) some of the side characters are when it comes to the protagonists' relationship. There's real emotional weight to many of the scenes and revelations, some of which genuinely surprised me. Just as importantly, there are plenty of light-hearted and super cute moments to balance it out. Most of all, I love the interactions between the two protagonists and their slowly developing relationship. It feels real, genuine and vulnerable. One tiny thing: there are a few phrases that pop up a lot across chapters. It's minor and might just be the author's style, but varying them a bit could add some polish. Anyways, really fun read with great characters and a sickeningly sweet (in a good way!) romance. EDIT: I'm not sure why the reviews say I have "0 chapters read", but I'm up-to-date and on the latest chapter (113: The Courier Queen)."
Love the plot
"I like the story line and the playful banter between the characters. I like that you can feel some scenes and how important that part to a character. I like that in some scenes you can tell that the right thing to do doesn't always feel right, you had to do them anyway."

"I love the way the author writes the dialogue in short sentences and you can feel the witt of the characters through such short witty responses. Personally love the progress of the story as well as development of characters. 10/10 "
