Summer
Thunder and rain, a hot summer day.
The laughter of children now hard at play.
Flowering scents waft through the breeze.
Teasing the nose and hugging the trees.
Insects cry out in never-ending glee.
Filling the nights, an elegant symphony.
Babbling brooks, their residents skittish.
Big snapping turtles and blubbering fish.
The sun warming all, an elegant host.
When summer takes hold of our white sandy coasts.
