A slice of life in a fantasy world
"I'm drawn into the characters and the world, but I'm a little frustrated with Everly and with Bennett too. It's an engaging story, but it ended on more of a 75 minute point than a 90 minute climax. I understand no resolution because leading into book 2, but this didn't feel like the end of the book. I think I need this as the start of something "bad" and then need a big low point/ climax we can get through to end the book (possibly danger or the hint of danger or something involving her secret). But I think it was an enjoyable quick read and I will keep book 2 in mind. I enjoy this author and the way she engages and takes feedback and makes revisions, and would likely recommend her for that alone, but i do think there are plenty of people out there who will enjoy reading this, so take a look. "
