"Amara's story continues with her escape, aided by the 'retrieval squad', along with Otto, from the hostile planet of Critex-9 where she was originally sent to die. The squad is made up of three alien species and one human hybrid (the captain). Each of the squad experience some sort of tether or bond with Amara but as confusing as this is for them and for her, Amara has only one mission in her mind - she is hellbent on finding a way to expose the Meridian Consortium. The rest just might have to wait. She now has a bounty on her head and for her, this does not bode well for the safety of Otto or the crew members. The plot is now building intensely as she discovers even more lies, tragedy and death. Book 2 is weaving its way to Book 3 - and what the heck is going on with that cliff hanger???"
