Refreshing Take
"I had honestly been apprehensive in starting this book when I had first looked at the tags. Mainly because most, if not all, of the previous books I have read that have a "Traumatized Omega x Alpha that rescues them" concept to them often has dynamics and things that I find iffy. Things like infantalizing or overly feminizing the Omega character, or immediately diving into the smut without addressing the Omega characters trauma, and the like. I'm glad that this book took the time to actually really flesh out Lennox as his own person instead of reducing him down to his trauma or his "secondary gender". The same can be said about Grant's character. I'm really happy that he didn't fall into the common archetype most Alpha characters fall into (that is being broody and toxically possessive). All that is to say, this book is such a refreshing take on the Omega x Alpha trope. A trope I have been avoiding because of the aforementioned reasons. But now, I'm the slightest bit convinced to dive back into this trope."
