But this didn't leave me clutching the edge of the cliff. 5*s for that alone 🤯 it was short sweet, had just enough drama to have me hooked to the end. Lil bit of steam. Just enough to whet the whistle but not drown me in playbyplay"
Blood doesn't always make a family
"This was a good story, well developed plotline and background on the characters. The female lead went through some bad stuff in the beginning but came out of it much stronger in the end. It would have been satisfying to read the details of her what happened to her original family, but in retrospect I am glad it wasn't spelled out. There was no need for it to be included, my imagination is sufficient to fill in the blanks. I like how the story developed first and then brought out the mates in quick order. Each of them brought a talent to the group, although we didn't get all the origins in the beginning, this allowed for a plot twist near the end that was surprising, yet satisfying at the same time. I love short stories, an author who can tell a complex story in under 30 chapters is to be appreciated. I rarely touch a novel over 80 chapters anymore, unless it's a long, drawn out, tale with many moving parts. Those tend to be too wordy in my opinion, yet there are some exceptions. This is my second read of this author, on to the next one. "

"All the characters are very easy to "love" and are very well written, apart from the fact that it is very rare to see in this type of books main female characters who are not submissive and who are really strong both physically and mentally."
