Prologue
“Do you pledge to honour the Goddess through your actions, words and thoughts as her blessed priestess?”
“I do.”
“Do you pledge your heart, soul, body and mind to the Goddess?” my eyes are glued to the glowing orbs of our High Mother as the Goddess uses her as a vessel.
“I do.” I feel the power of my vow the moment I make it, swearing my whole self to the Goddess.
“Raise your veil and look into my eyes, young one.” I obey as the command of the Moon cannot be disobeyed. I feel as if she is in me, seeing into my soul, heart and mind and claiming it as hers.
“Kneel” my knees drop to the moonstone steps and as she steps closer my neck bends instinctively. Her long fingers move my braided hair behind my shoulders and she places the pad of her index finger to the crook of my neck.
Immediately, I feel pain.
Not only physical but mental, so much pain that I open my mouth to scream but can only muster a groan as my body drops to the floor. I had been told of the pain of the ceremony, how it was indescribable when the Goddess claimed you and would most definitely cause a black out, but they also told me of the wholeness you felt. And as I lay on the ground my eyes blurred and heavy but still having the vision of the High Mother’s glowing form, I felt the completeness they described. I felt whole and loved.
The Goddess had marked me as her priestess, I was now Moon Blessed.
