Chapter 1
Summary: Loki Laufeyson is the Grinch of Asgard, and it seems only one thing will cure his lack of holiday spirit: You.
Loki Laufeyson. Well known by your town to be one of the meanest, cruelest, and most terrifying beings. He was unusually cruel to humans, children, and he had an incredible disdain for the holidays. He had an extreme lack of holiday spirit, and everyone knew it.
Your best friend, Y/F/N, came tumbling towards you, finished with her classes for the day. Sadly, you weren’t taking any of the same core classes, but you still maintained a sturdy friendship, and for that, you were grateful for. It was officially December 23rd, and you and Y/F/N had a tradition to go and look at all of the Christmas lights around the city.
As you wandered around the city, wrapped in your jackets, you and Y/F/N noticed something. The lights in the city were no longer the bright, colorful ones, but replaced with dreary colors, like black and grey. And the next day, when you attempted another go around, the lights had completely disappeared. Why? You didn’t know.
“Y/N, I think we should try something new this year.” Y/F/N spoke, and you looked at her with a puzzled look. You weren’t exactly sure what else you could try in this town. It was small, but well suited for everyone living in it. Everyone knew everyone, the same stories carried on from generation to generation, but that’s how everyone liked it. They weren’t suited for big, bustling cities like Perero, or Largos. At least the ones that stayed.
Y/F/N blindfolded you, and you felt your mind trying to identify your location by the twists and turns she made with the car. But you still didn’t have a clue. When she pulled you out of the car, you felt a chill run up your spine. “Y/F/N?” But she was already in the car, driving further and further away. You took off your blindfold and cursed to yourself, stomping your foot dramatically. “Ugh!” She did this same thing on Halloween too, except it was much more fitting then. Now, with the higher altitude, you felt as though you might freeze to death. You went to grab your phone out of your jacket pocket, but soon realized that you had left it charging in Y/F/N’s car. You cursed to yourself oncemore, trying to think of ways out of this situation she had put you in.
After about 20 minutes of wandering, you came to the conclusion that she was not coming back, at least for a while. You decided to try and find a safe place to camp out, though you weren’t sure if that was possible. You quickly spotted an entrance into what seemed like a cave, and jumped at the opportunity. Entering the cave, you shook with fear, anticipation, and from the cold. Your face must’ve been red in the cheeks and on your nose, that’s how you were when you got cold.
