In the Marvel Universe there's an organization, S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Legistics Devision), that helps to protect from Hydra and other threats. After the Battle of New York and his arise from the dead, Agent Phil Coulson banded a team consisting of Agents; Melinda May, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz, and Jemma Simmons. Although soon after they recuit Skye because she helped them on their first mission. Little did they know that while they were on a plane doing missions, it was discovered that Hydra had infiltrated Shield. Agent Grant Ward became a Shield agent for the benefit of Hydra along with many others.
