2 years since the hell officially began. 23 months since the government announced that a secret organization called the SCP Foundation had fallen, the many sites destroyed.
You may be wondering what the hell I'm even talking about. It's a living definition of hell, that's all I will and can tell you. At least...
That's what it felt like.
I'm Rai. I'm 19 and I guess I used to be a college student before the rampage.
I wanted to be a part of society before it went haywire, scaring everyone and taking the last bit of humanity they had left.
I was barely graduating from sophomore to junior that summer.
When the hellhole started.
I hummed as I knocked on the door of my family house and used my house key to open it and entered. It was eerily quiet and dark.
As I'm used to when I come home before my parents and siblings come home.
I left my pack near the front then saw the lights come on, getting spooked.
Someone broke in here, I thought soon wanting to protect myself. Good thing I had my knife.
It was an 8 inch knife with a black leather handle and matching sheath. 5 out of the 8 inches were made up of the double-edged blade.
Out of habit, I got out my bayonet silver-bladed knife then saw my family grinning at me. I sighed in relief then grinned as they said, "Welcome home, Raimunda."
They hugged me. I smiled wide. "Thanks everyone." I put the bayonet back into its sheath. "Long time no see, huh? Sorry for not coming home last year until the last month. I was on vacation with Maia."
Mom smiled at me. "Aww it's ok, mi Munda." I smiled a bit more. "You must be hungry during your travel." She waved for me to follow her into the kitchen.
She served me some carne asada (that Baba made), her specialty rice and some menudo (that Gramma made and brought from my old hometown) and I ate like a queen.
Everyone joined in at the table with their plates. I smiled as I ate with them. I missed this. The food hit the spot.
After I finished, I looked around at them as they ate. Taking in each detail from each one of them.
Baba was basically the man of the house like always, his confidence radiating through his soft-but-built form. He had dark skin from working on an oil rig, black hair and dark eyes, stubble on his jaw and over his lip. You can tell who he was by just his determination and confidence.
Mom was the woman of the house and boss when Baba was at work, her pride and love radiating through her eyes and whole hourglass form. She had pale skin like me, brown-with-blonde highlights in her hair and dark brown eyes. You can tell who she was just by how she walks and talks, with confidence mixed with shyness.
Kayla was the type for girl that if you get her mad or upset, she will put you down and in your place with only her words and words alone. She had light tan skin, long dark hair and dark brown eyes. You can tell who she was by how she talks, with sass, confidence and pride.
Esteban was the cutest little boy you ever met, if you don't know how protective he was or gets of the girls in our family. He had pale skin, curly brown hair and brown eyes. You can tell who he was by the little elephant rag doll he held in either his hand or his arms, craddling it like a baby.
Gramma was the best grandmother in the world if you don't know about the lymphoma she went through or the fact that at some parts of my life she would work along with Mom. She had very light tan, softly wrinkled skin, curly short brown hair and dark eyes behind glasses. You can tell who she was by how she stands, with confidence and pride.
This is my amazing family.
