Prologue- 2074
I've only heard stories and rumours of a time when the world was seperated into continets. Those continets seperated into countries. Each country alarmingly differnt from the previous. It astounds me that at a certain point in time people could choose their life instead of watching it crumble right before their eyes.
Now, instead of continents and countries and an unusual word, "freedom", we have one big world. According to my history class the continets were once seperate, that is not the case now. They weren't supposed to push together for at least another ten years according to something children like me used to study back in the '20's and '30's. How incredibly preposterous.
It's called science. My history professor calls it stupid. My math professor calls it unnecessary. My writing teacher calls it a complete, utter waste of time.
"If only they could have known that back then," my history teacher lectures, "perhaps they would have learned to be a peacful society sooner, just like us."
Just like us.
Except, we weren't a peaceful society. I mean, we looked just so. Inside, however, we could hardly stand the "go to school or work, don't show emotions, greet your parents, do your homework, eat, shower, go to bed, and so on" gig any longer.
We weren't asking for exitement. Just change.
But on the thirteenth something that would change everything happened.
I personally never believed that "13" was an unlucky number. Boy was I wrong.
