An Arrow in the Knee

My name is Dan, and I have an awesome tale to tell you. It is one of many of my adventures in Skyrim. It all started when I went to Whiterun. I was going to the lower market area that was right in front of the inn. That was when I met him.

He walked right up to me. He seemed to have a sudden feeling of nostalgia. “We are not so different.” the guard told me. “What do you mean?” I asked. I did not know if I was in trouble or something. I had not remembered committing any crimes.

He then spoke. “I used to be an adventurer like you. Until I took an arrow in the knee.” “What happened?” I asked the guard. “I was on my way to this city a couple of years ago. That was when I was ambushed by 3 different bandits. I stood my ground and took 2 of them out. But the last bandit got a distance from me. He drew an arrow and aimed at my legs. He then released the arrow. It hit me square in the knee.”

“I am so sorry, man!” I told him. “Do you know what clan they were from?” “I actually do. It was the Bloodshed Clan of bandits.” “I shall avenge you.” I told him. “You would really do that for me? Thank you so much!” “No problem!”

“How about I treat you to some nice mead?” The guard asked. “Sure!” Me and the guard went to the inn and grabbed a drink. “So, what is your name?” I asked the guard. “It is Jace. How about yours?” “Dan” I told him. “I will let you know when the deed is done.” “I last heard about the Bloodshed Clan setting up base at Embershard Mine.”

“I will set out tomorrow to avenge you, Jace!” “Thank you so much!” “I am glad to help!” After the converstation with Jace, I rented a bed and went to sleep.

In the morning, I was ready to avenge him. I traveled all the way back to Riverwood, then to the mine. I drew my ebony sword out. I also pulled out my ebony shield. I saw one of the bandits standing by the entrance to the mine. I took my ebony bow out and silently took him out. I proceeded into the mine.

The bandits were going to pay. Right when I entered, a bandit charged at me, shouting “You never should have come here!” I blocked the incoming attack with my shield, then I bashed the bandit. I slashed his knee, then stabbed him in the chest. The bandit dropped limp.

I continued through the mine. There were more bandits in the next room. I sidehopped out of the way of the strike of a warhammer. I then sliced through the bandit wielding the warhammer. I then bashed another incoming bandit. I then sliced through his chest. I then killed the last bandit in the room with my shield.

Those stupid, petty, horrible, disgraced thugs were going to pay for shooting that guard in the knee. I found even more bandits in the next room! I shot them all down with my bow. These awful bandits made me sick.

There the chief was. In the next room. All alone. “YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO JAYCE, BASTARD!” I shouted at the chief, drawing my sword and shield. “You better watch out! I might put an arrow in your knee, too!” the chief told me. He drew his bow, but so did I.

The chief shot first, but I leaped out of the way. I fired an arrow into the chief’s knee. “DAMMIT!” The chief howled in pain. I fired 3 more arrows into his knee. I held my sword up to his throat. “Any last words?” I asked the chief. “Screw you” the chief said. I immediately cut the chief down.

The deed was done. I brought the chief’s dagger for proof that I did it. I then returned to Whiterun.

I found Jayce at the inn. “The deed is done.” I told him. I showed him the dagger. “Woah, you really did it!” “I put 4 arrows into his knee before I killed him.” I told him. “You did not only avenge me, Dan. You avenged all of us! Every one of us guards have taken arrows in the knee!” “What?” I was utterly confused.

“You deserve to be jarl, come on!” He led me out of the inn, and all of the Whiterun guards were waiting outside of the door. They kneeled to him. “Come on! We are going to overthrow the jarl!”

I followed the guards to Dragonsreach, where Jarl Balgruuf was. The guards surrounded Balgruuf. “What is this all about?” Blagruuf asked in shock. “You shall no longer be the jarl. You will be one of us now.” The guard drew his bow. “NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” Balgruuf shouted. The guard fired an arrow into his knee. He was now a guard like the rest of them.

“All hail Dan, the new Jarl of Whiterun!” Everybody bowed down towards me. I was as shocked as Balgruuf was. Balgruuf took an arrow in his knee, so he was now a guard. And I was the Jarl of Whiterun.

That was my epic tail of the guard who took an arrow in his knee. I am still to this day, the Jarl of Whiterun. So don’t take an arrow in the knee. If you do, you will become a guard. You will never be able to be an adventurer ever again.

I don't think all the guards who took an arrow in the knee would ever want to kneel, but otherwise it was funny.
