Chapter 1
Was this day ever going to end? Kaia had been sat at her desk for the past 8 hours and this last hour had dragged itself out like nothing on earth. It was literally her best mates Fay and Sienna texting her that had kept her going, knowing they were hitting the new club in town tonight making her smile...and boy did she need a night out.
Work wasn't all bad. Her boss had given her the secretary job when she was dating his nephew and he didn't want to let her go when they split, even when she insisted she didn't want to make things awkward between the two men by still being there. That's when she was told his nephew was a complete idiot for letting her go and never treating her right. The day she turned up with a black eye was more than enough to end that relationship for her.
As soon as the clock clicked on to 5pm she gathered her phone and the rest of her things and shoved them all into her bag. Her coat was hanging in the staff room so she stuck her head into her bosses office and wished him a great weekend off as she passed. She slipped her arms into the warm jacket and smiled as the elevator lowered to the buildings lobby knowing her friends would be there to greet her. This would be her first night out since her split from Robert and she had no idea what her besties had planned for her or what they considered a good clubbing outfit. Robert always wanted her to cover up, called her fat and ugly all the time so her confidence was at an all time low. Sienna, being the overly confident one, was determined it was make over time both cosmetically and internally.
The girls smothered her as she stepped out of the lift. "Can I breath yet," Kaia laughed as she tried to pry herself out of their tight grip.
"Only if you hand yourself over to the dark side tonight." Sienna threw back at her as Fay giggled, knowing exactly what Sienna had planned for their bestie.
"I trust you both so yeah, I'm completely in your hands" Kaia nodded, she could see tonight being a messy one and a massive hangover waiting in the wings for her. Still, it's what she needed. A new start, a new outlook on life, a time to do what was best for her and live her best life.
