What next?
“Eight weeks pregnant,” She said.
Her dad put her down and took a brief moment to let what she had just said sink in.
“I’m going to kill him,” He muttered.
“It’s not worth it.”
“How is it not worth it?! He broke your heart and didn’t think twice before not coming back to pick up the pieces. And to top it all off, you’re now stuck with his bastard. He practically shattered your honour and trampled all over it.”
“Yes, I’m carrying his bastard, but it’s mine too. It didn’t ask to be here, but it is and like it or not, it’s your grandpup.”
“Either way, nothing in this world will protect him from my wrath.”
She would’ve stopped him herself if it wasn’t for the fact that she was pregnant.
“Takeshi, my dad’s about to go on a rampage.” She mind-linked him.
“Let him be. He’s dead to me anyway.”
“I’m about to make that statement literal. And I know you can’t stop me.”
“You’re right, but that doesn’t mean someone else can’t.”
“What’s going on here?” Takeshi came in. “And why are you about to go on a rampage?”
“You won’t believe this madness, but she’s pregnant, and I was on my way to bash someone’s head in. She doesn’t think it’s worth it.”
“She’s right. Think about it. Don’t you think Shoto will want retribution if you kill him?”
“What does it matter?!”
“He’ll challenge you to a duel, possibly to the death. Are you willing to have a friend’s blood on your hands? And what about the pup? How do you think it’ll feel when it one day finds out that its grandfather murdered its father and other grandfather? You’ll end up worse than you know who. What will you do then?”
In the middle of all the yelling, she felt a weird and sudden burst of energy. Her dad and Takeshi felt it, too because they stopped and looked at her still flat belly that she was now clutching protectively. She looked like she was ready to snap and let loose if anyone made one wrong move.
“I’m leaving.” She growled.
Her dad wanted to go after her. His wolf urged him to, but Takeshi stopped him.
“You might make things worse.”
When she got into her car, with Oreo making himself comfortable on her lap, she rested her head on the steering wheel and took deep breaths to calm down. But no matter how hard she tried, her tears couldn’t be held back anymore.
“Stupid hormones,” She thought.
She would’ve talked to Tis to get some solace if it weren’t for the fact that she’d been inactive since the incident and that she had no clue when Tis would come back. This was the first time in her life that she’d ever felt so scared, confused and alone. That same weird burst of energy she felt moments ago washed over her again. But this time, it made her feel warm and safe.
“I guess it’s just you, me and Oreo for the next seven months or so,” She placed a hand on her belly. “How about we just walk there instead?”
She got out of the car and walked the same route she’d been taking for years.
“You’re probably wondering what we’re doing here.” She said when she reached their destination. “It’s because I want you to meet someone special.”
She wn toward the area that looked more like a garden because of the variety of flowers. Not to mention, they were fresh and vibrant too. She stopped in front of the centre of it.
“Hey, Mama Wolf. Sorry for not coming for the last two weeks. In my defence, nothing interesting happened, and I probably would’ve bored you. You won’t believe this, but you’re going to be someone’s grandma. It must be weird that your baby is having a baby, huh? But I don’t know how to feel about it because you know. It’s confusing, to say the least.”
