Chap. 1; Coffee & Marriage
As Hayden drove to the coffee shop at 6:43, when he gets there he sees an employee he's never seen there in his 3.5 years of going there. But nevertheless, he walks in and orders his usual, An espresso.
“Hello?” Hayden says, “Ah–” The cashier says, startled. “What can I get you sir?” They said, turning. “An espresso, not decaf” He said, annoyed. “Coming right up, go find a table to sit at!” they said writing that down. “He's pretty” Hayden thought.
After, Hayden found an empty table and went on his phone. Though even after listening to music, videos, scrolling through anything he could possibly find, he kept staring at the barista as he made his drink.
He had dirty blonde hair, freckles and a necklace with the initial ‘A’ on it with a rose gold heart. The A was inside of the heart, too. Stunning Heterochromia, one eye blue one eye green. Pale skin, plus He wore a brown and white apron that says ‘Grande Cafe’ on the front.
The white was the shirt under and the apron was brown. He also had tattoos and a nose ring, and some rings that were rose gold. He also seemed to be shorter than Hayden
“Come to think of it, He's really, really pretty” he thought, then he remembered what himself looks like. Hayden looked different than the boy. He had black hair, no freckles, brown eyes and a necklace with the initial ‘H’ on it.
He has a few rings too, they were silver. He had black suit on with a white button up shirt underneath.After staring at the barista, Hayden snapped back into reality by sudden burst open of the door.
“tch.” Then he went back on his phone, trying not to look at the barista. Then, the Barista got done with his drink and laid it on his table, “Anything else sir?” They said. He hesitated, but then asked, “What's your name” with a hesitant tone.
“Hm? My name?” The barista repeated, confused. “Yes.” He quickly replied. “Uh, Akihiro. Akihiro Adams” Akihiro said, with a confused tone of voice. “Hayden Ardeno” Hayden said, happy he now knew the, in his opinion, cute barista's name.
After Hayden said his name, Akihiro smiled and left to go serve another customer. While Akihiro did his job, Hayden, however went on to stare at him. Then snapped back onto reality as he remembered he needs to get to work, Especially as he's a CEO. so he got his stuff, paid and left.
“God, he was so pretty... ” Hayden thought. “What– what am I thinking?! I have to be straight.. No boy's.” ... “What am I thinking now, that's impossible, Not even Father knows I like boys... Well, he wouldn't accept me anyways so what's the point of telling him...”
“But I really want him to despite that.” he continued in thought.
“Why did you have to leave... ” He said.
When he got there, He immediately went into his office. But only his dad was there. which was a surprised to see, considering he doesn't exactly like his son. Actually, he hates him, though he does favorite his little brother, Hiroshi.
“Hayden.” His father said in his normal strict tone that only Hayden knew. “Uh.. yes Father?” Hayden hesitantly said, unknowing of what his father will say.
“You're going to get married next week.” The chairman said. “WHAT?!” Hayden screamed. He was furious, he, in no place, was ready for marriage, he was twenty years old. He rather be married at forty then twenty.
“I have decided to get you married, we must continue the generation of Ardeno's, So you will get a wife and have kids.” His father continued making his decision clear as glass. “No! I don't want a wife– I'm twenty for gods sake!" He fought back angrily.
“I got married at twenty!” his father yelled, “Why can't you?!” his father continued. “Becuse I'm not you! I don't want to get married at twenty– In fact I don't want to get married at all! Not if it's a woman!” Hayden shouted.
“what?” His father said, shock written all over his face. "Your Gay?" His father said, still shocked. "I- I'm sorry, uh-" Hayden said. "..." His father looked down, silent. Then he looked to Hayden and said, "It's okay."
"What?" Hayden said staring at his father. “It's– It's ok” his father said, Then looked to the side. “So– so who do you like? What does he look like?” Mr. Ardeno said. Hayden looked at his father, a bit weirded out that he cared for Hayden– or at least his feelings.
“Uh, he has dirty blonde hair, freckles and a necklace with an A. The A was inside of a heart, too. Also stunning Heterochromia, one eye blue one eye green. Pale skin, plus, he also had tattoos and a nose ring, and some of the rings were rose gold. He seemed to be shorter than me, too.” Hayden said.
“And He's really, really pretty” Then Hayden thought to say his– “His name is Akihiro Adams.” Hayden said.
His father stayed silent for what seemed to be so long. “Meet your brother and I at our mansion on Sunday at 8:30 sharp.” He said after a while and left quickly. ““I wonder what he needs me for..” Hayden wondered.
That night Hayden pondered what his father–and why–needed him for on Sunday. Then a thought came to his mind–what if his father is disowning Hayden to get him out his life? Or maybe he's planning to kick him out? Or worse– have him sent to Colorado! Not that Colorado is a bad place, he just doesn't want to go there.
“What have I gotten myself into this time?” Hayden thought. He most definitely–at no cost wanted to be kicked out. That would be the worst thing to ever, ever, ever happen to him. Imagine, him–a Famliless CEO! He would never fit in any place ever again in his whole life if that ever happened.
Now Hayden was panicking. What would happen to him now? Would his father hate him? His brother despise him–not that he really cares for his brother. And would his mother disown him and agree the LGBTQ is a bad community?
He always thought his mother didn't care his sexuality but now he was questioning that thought. What if she did? He adores his mother. She's the only person he feels safe around, but what if she comes to hate him if he's in the LGBTQ community?
After a few thoughts–or maybe a lot, who knows–he fell asleep still nervous about what will happen on Sunday, considering that it's in 3 days. And in those days how will he know what will happen? Will they accept him or not? Only in the upcoming days will he then know.
