Chapter 1

Summer

Have you ever been in love? I was once. When I was 6, I met this boy. I was in our backyard playing baseball with my dad and my brother. My brother is one year older than me. We looked nothing alike. For that fact, I looked nothing like anyone in my family. I had blonde hair and blue eyes. I was my moms, little Angel. While everyone else had brunette hair and hazel eyes.

My dad was my hero and I always wanted to make him proud but sometimes I felt he would spend more time with my other siblings more than me. We had our moments when he was to praise me and compliment me, and playing baseball with him and my brother was one of them. He would always say I was a good pitcher. He says I got a strong arm. Getting compliments from my dad always made me happier than anything.

When I was pitching the ball to my brother he hit the ball over the empty neighbor's house.

"Stop staring and get the ball or I'm gonna win the game, Summer!" My brother screamed. Without answering I dashed off to where it was headed. When I was looking for the ball in the yard I ran into someone pretty small like me. When I got up and looked at the person I bumped into he smiled at me. I just stared at him and couldn't help but smile back I was feeling very hot and my heart was racing faster than a mile. He had Brunette hair and blue eyes which I thought were adorable. And when he smiled he had these dimples on his cheek.

"Hi, I'm Tyler. What's your name?" he said.

"U-Um I am S-Summer" I stuttered.

"Can we be friends?" He asked. Before I said anything my dad called my name.

"Uh I have to go" I let out and picked up our baseball and ran and I didn't turn back.

Sharda: This reads like if it's the author's first book. There were a lot of missing things to make the story feel real. I appreciated the good grammar and the storyline was good. It just needed some more, the book felt a bit rushed.
