Chapter 1.
The early reign of Neo Queen Serenity had begun. The Earth had gained a Queen and eight guardians to protect it. This year the Queen turned twenty one. The whole world celebrated. People of the eight planets cheered for her. Festivals and huge celebrations were held in honor of her birth.
The Queens of the eight planets rejoiced. The Crystal Empire was on the peak of prosperity and glory thanks to the young brilliant woman. Everyone were proud.
This was the fourth year of her rule. Each year people did celebrate her birthday but they were also curious about one thing. And that is her marriage. The paparazzi always trailed behind whatever person they thought could be her possible lover or paramour. Perhaps that's why the Queen practically locked herself and shrouded everyone in mystery.
Usagi: yes I hate it. Princess Venus, kindly stop reading the newspaper like that.
Minako: my apologies your majesty.
Minako smirked mischievously. I sighed. There was a lot on my mind. Hosting a week long celebration hasn't been easy. I glanced outside to see snow petals falling down.
Usagi: Venus. It's snowing.
Minako: you're right.
I glanced at my sailor guardian. Time passes so quickly. I really can't believe it. She has grown up to be a beautiful woman now and now she's in a relationship with one of the four heavenly Kings. Kunzite actually.
Minako: I'm going out with Kunzite today. He has asked me out a date.
There was a knock on the office door and the make came in and gave his greetings to me.
Usagi: hello to you too Kunzite. Looks like you're here to pick Minako. Both of you can go and enjoy.
Kunzite: thankyou. Shall we go Minako?
Minako smiled delightfully and grabbed his hand.
Kunzite: Oh! And your majesty, the next council meeting has been adjourned due to the Christmas festival. Officials are on a break now.
Usagi: alright. But does that mean I'm free? Like there's no work?
Kunzite: yes your majesty.
Usagi: that's wierd.
Minako: it sure is. Otherwise I'm stuck in Megallan Palace for most of the holidays.
Usagi: suspecious…
Minako: not this again Queen Serenity. Everyone just wants a break since it has been a hectic year. Not all of us are workaholics like you.
Usagi: Venus. I worry for the safety of the Solar system.
Kunzite: your majesty why don't you take a break and go outside to Crystal Tokyo. Your old neighbourhood is there. It would be good to visit your home town.
Usagi: I don't want to.
Minako patted my shoulder.
Minako: hey. Take a break usagi. You need it. Kunzite is right. Go to Crystal Tokyo. Your mind will refresh a bit. You'll get sick if you stay inside in one place forever.
Usagi hesitated.
Usagi: Alright Minako. I'll go.
Minako passed a gentle expression to me and left after bowing down with Kunzite. I went out on the terrace. The city of Crystal Tokyo shined brightly at a distance.
Usagi: to the city huh?
